that's what it is. a deadline. they have 3 days to decide. if they decide on day 1, then it's over. they can match an offer the second they receive it.

Again, taking from what the OP was saying, Bynum's knee situation is more of a nonfactor than Dwight's back situation. Also, Bynum is extremely more likely to resign here than Dwight, and Bynum will improve and become a superstar (hopefully) if he is THE man in Houston. So it's not so crazy to think that Houston might prefer facilitating Dwight to LA and getting Bynum in return.

Because Orlando is asking too much from us. Thus involving LA who wants Dwight as well while we have Bynum as a plan B and someone who will sign an extension.

It would help if you focus before you post sh!tty incomplete trades like that in the first place.

Your logic in us dealing with LA in a 3 team deal still makes no sense. Even if it did, I'd drop dead before I helped LA get that much better than us. I guess I'm part of the few here.

Before Scola was released, I could see a 3 way deal where the Lakers moved both Pau and Bynum, and therefore giving something up that would benefit the Rockets.

The only reason to include the Lakers is that they have the ability to take back an additional bad contract. It would allow Orlando to wipe their books clean next year aside from $6M due to Turkoglu. I think we'd need a 4th team to rid them of all Turkoglu/Duhon/Davis/Richardson/Richardson and not send the Magic anyone guaranteed beyond this year.

Ron Artest might opt out of his final year, which would allow LA/Hou to take back everything (Rockets would take back Turkoglu/Duhon who are owed about $7M for next season if waived). Good chance he wouldn't be willing to do that, but you never know.

We'd have a pretty clean slate going into free agency that way. $7M plus any of our rookies we keep.

And keeping it quiet so that owners/GMs (although Dan Gilbert would be a hypocrite now to do so; see also, Bynum, Andrew) don't make Stern veto the trade for basketball reasons.

Screw la. Let's go after howard now that we will have center insurance with asik.

Martin, parsons, morris, raptor pick, hou 2014 1st and fillers for dwight, Hedo and duhon. That's as good as its going to get for them.

    Lin/duhon/machado
    Lamb/Forbes
    Hedo/white
    Ppat/dmo/jones
    Howard/asik/leuer

So much marketability and talent. Definitely would be the team to watch. Hedo and duhon have buyouts next season. And asik could net value is he's moved out.

    Dude.. Calm TF down.

I'm guessing you want us to deal straight up with Orlando.. take back bad contracts while dishing Lamb and Jones and having a Dwight Howard rental.

But he just said that that's not the case and that Dwight is Plan A...

Basically, this "insider" information doesn't make any sense.

Why would Morey text that before there's even an offer being made. I don't buy it because Daryl should know this is going to come out one way or the other, which it did (if it's true that is).

the way the contract has to be structured is defined by the CBA so u can offer give or take a few 5 mil in year one and two and then the remaining contract is offered in year 3 . so with a 3 yr 25 million contract its 5,5, 15 .. only way you can lower that is by reducing the offer

Again.. the Magic wont do a deal without one of our 2012 first rounders. I know if martin is the centerpiece this trade will not get done. Might have to switch out Lamb for Martin or maybe send TJones or White instead of Morris.

We have come a long way in a short period (it just feels like a long time).
Not so long ago, Morey was getting ass-raped here.
Those folks seem to have quieted down somewhat. Heh.
    Funny how that works.

That also doesn't hold since either way Orlando will be losing Dwight and gaining assets from Houston. As long as they Dwight up, whether he ends up in Los Angeles or Houston wouldn't change how much of Houston's assets they want to receive in return.

No one knows for sure, whether or not Dwight will stay or go. No one knows for sure whether Bynum will stay healthy or not... there are risks in every move you make with either of the 2.

One I'm not willing to take is making the Lakers a super dynasty again for doing nothing but piggy-backing a trade we can make ourselves while taking one measely bad contract back.

If everyone wasn't so enamoured with our rooks right now it would be totally different. As you stated you have to give up something in order to recieve something in return, no one is saying we'll give the farm for Dwight, either.

And I am calm, it's hard to debate with someone that doesn't have it together in the first place, that's all.

Take the 2014 pick away along with morris and give them either Jones or white.

If we give up picks, Lamb, or D-Mo only to get one year of Bynum, then I'll scream.
