i just dont see us making the trade without giving up any of our Rooks.. Plus your little change is actually BIG. I had Bynum instead of Howard since he may sign an extension with us.
That trade STILL doesn't make any sense. We'd be giving up more than our fair share of assets plus taking back Hedo's contract... when LA gives up an aging Gasol and Bynum who already more than likely won't re-sign with them for the best player out of everyone, Dwight Howard? No absolutely not!
No one's comparing their games. They both have/had bad hands and would let smaller players swipe at the ball to create turnovers. That's the only thing that's being compared here to Yao. Jeez some type of crime to compare a player's similarity to Yao. SMH
It's all a game is risk, so is life. I, and many of the posters here believe that the Chinese Market (even moreso with Lin), the Bird Rights deal ( would have to leaving a guaranteed year+over 30m on the table), and our ability to add another star next offseason are reasons as to why Dwight would resign. I would think that Morey believes some version of the same, but there's no way to know for sure. Obviously it is very risky from his standpoint, but it could also pay off in a major way. What is your opinion on the validity of the argument for Dwight staying in Houston?
this is why I say suck it to those who had a problem with the poison pill Lin contract, its business, teams regularly make other squads wait till that 3rd day, so its all fair game
Yeah but we're GETTING a franchise center something we've been meaning to do since Yao went down. We're going to have to let go of somethings. LA would just be TRADING so i dont see them having to give up as much as us. This trade is fair to everyone I would think. Nothing wrong with us giving up a little more than LA
Can you text Morey and ask him how soon we get this Dwight deal done? Can you also tell him not to include Lamb, Donuts, and Jones?
For my money he's currently the best insider we have on the board. Doesn't play games, posts legit stuff. What more could you want?
That makes no sense at all... we would have our franchise center in Dwight if he'd be traded for straight up and more than likely we'd be giving up those same pieces. What's the point in involving LA?
L.A likes Morris. Trade for Bynum. I'd rather the Rockets deal Morris, Martin, picks than the new rookies. Don't think that L.A isn't interested in the Rockets picks with Bryant hinting at retirement in a couple years. They'll need to stay relevant. Nash also isn't going to last TOO much longer.
The point would be that they take more of the bad contracts, I believe, and we get Bynum. As the OP pointed out, Bynum had to Kobe procedure in Germany on both of his knees and his health has not been better, especially this past season where there were times when he was playing 5 straight games. Compare that to the fact that Dwight is still not able to run and I think it makes sense. There's also the fact that Bynum is 24 and has still put up good numbers despite being the 3rd option on offense. Imagine what he could do here. I still like Dwight as our first option, but I'm beginning to sway to Bynum.
I forgot all about Lee Lin/Douglas Lee/Lamb Parsons/White Motiejunas/TJones Bynum/Asik Orlando can have Morris, Patterson & Fortson!!!
We have many assets for them, possibly to 1st rounders next year. If we get Bynum and he signs an extenstion, I would easily give up a first round pick this year and next year. Thanks for the inside info
