[Summer League] Rockets vs Blazers : Vegas Summer League Game 4

I never saw his elbow anywhere near his face, it looked like he went head first into the padded pole thing

 

Only funny thing to come out of this was a guy calling GORAN dragic a dick for "Hitting him with a cheap shot"(even though zoran didn't hit him).

Just finished watching the game and I'm extremely impressed with the young guns. How could you not be impressed with them? Royce White, Jeremy Lamb, Donatas Motiejunas, and Terrence (not Thomas, Sam Mitchell) Jones all look like immediate contributors, while Zoran and Machado look like they could make the team.

In a deal for Dwight or Bynum, it's clear we're goin to have to lose some of these guys, but I wouldn't mind keeping all of them. Even if it means not getting a superstar, I'd love to see these guys play together with Lin. They'd be a losing team sending the Rockets right back into the lottery, but it's a style of basketball that could be fun to watch with plenty of potential to get better. It's a type of losing I can get behind if a deal for a star can't be made.

 

Agreed. If you watch him during an interview, he's still intense- completely focused. It's like he thinks it's halftime in the playoffs, even if the meaningless summer game is over. He's a killer, really. Kobe.

 

We need to sign ZOZO aka Zoran Dragic! He is legit!

Put my vote in for the young guns> Howard. Howard can pull his ugly jump hook out in LA while that window closes. With 2-3 years of development these guys will be unbelievable.


Jeremy Lamb is cooooold bloodeeeeeed!! He got off a couple nasty heat check shots but when you're a scorer and you're lighting it up, that's the right time to find out. Non chalant look on his face while he buries 20 points a night? I'd take that.

My thoughts on last night....

Zoran Dragic may not end up playing here, but I can see that guy with a future in the league as a backup wing/energy guy.

I have liked the Terrence Jones pick since the draft and I still like it. Give the guy the ball, let him face up and he is going to be a nightmare whether he is in the post or on the elbow. Defense, rebouding, athleticism all solid.

Royce White had me laughing in the second quarter with his display of passing. I really think he will develop as a decent scorer as well. He just looks so controlled when he gets a rebound and initiates the break.

Jeremy Lamb- This guy is just an offensive machine. I have seen him demonstrate about every offensive skill you can have over the last few games. I don't buy this "low intensity" crap either. There were a few times last night where he was clapping/being demonstrative to fire up his team on the defensive end. He wants to win.

DMO- Another solid outing. I think DMO will have a bigger impact than Jonas Valanciunas (fellow Lithuanian) this year. His speed and fluidity have really stuck out to me. In addition to great post moves.


I really have enjoyed these games. Shame they have to end after today.

 

boy ... POR is really a star-crossed franchise. On TV, the contact also didn't look that strong.

 

They replayed the incident over and over and nothing about it looked intentional or even that hard. Rick Mahorn after repeatedly looking at the replay was even saying the contact by the players was minor and wondered if the pad on the stanchion was too thin.

 

We are already 3-1 in Summer league.

Go Rockets! Game 5 coming up! Good gawd I'm freakin out over Summer league! yeah. Let the kids-Men play !

They are good right now, and have incredible potential. Jones, lamb, white, and D-Mo are exciting to watch. If y ou p lay white at the 3, lamb at the two, d-mo at the 4/5, & jones at the 4, we could make this work. Morris will have to be moved.
