It was okay, annoying plot hole (ex: Uncle Ben complaining about Peter not picking up Aunt May despite not owning a vehicle larger than a stupid skateboard)

The girl I watched the movie with yesterday commented on the exact same thing. From then on she kept focusing on that part of his body. Also she thinks this Garfield kid is cute... meh, could be the hair. He's too whiny to be cute IMO.

Agree completely with these comments but I'd bump it down to a 6/10.

Much better supporting cast (Stone, Fields, Sheen, Leary); you can't beat the gravitas you get with Sally Fields' worried look. But there were too many boring spots and poor transitions. The side plot focusing on Connors bugged the crap out of me; that storyline plot was poorly explained and unnecessarily cryptic.

I liked Garfield but still prefer McGuire's performance. I liked the one liners in the first one.

Overall the emo vibe killed it for me. SM1 had this great heartwarming vibe to it that really had me empathize with peter/spidey. This movie lacked that.
And despite all the good acting performances, spidey's and connors left me underwhelmed.

Another annoying crap about these spider man movies is the PC bs. All the criminals are white, what happens to affirmative action?

Were they also 'rappers' who said 'word' a lot and crossed their arms impetuously?

"Did you tell the boy about his father?!" That scene sums up the entire film. Laughable.

I saw the film last night and thought it was terrific. I liked it more than the first series of flicks with McGuire. Sure, some things are changed up, but it worked, at least for me.

Saw it a couple days ago. I didn't really want a Spidey reboot already. I'm still reeling from Spiderman 3.

But it was pretty good. I prefer Tobey Maguire to Andrew Garfield, but whatev. Garfield looks 30 years old and it's hard for me to believe he's in high school.

    6.5/10 or so.

That would mean casting a black as a scientist. We can't have none of that.

Saw it today. I like it a lot more than the Toby movies and liked Garlfield better than I thought I would. There were still plenty of holes, but it was entertaining.

Did I mention, I love Emma Stone. She could play both Gwen and MJ for all I care.

Can't wait until the sequel where Gwen Stacy is (hopefully) no longer a minor. Then we can have endless secks scenes. Great Success!

Did anyone else catch Peter traveling like a sailor before that dunk?

Just saw it. I was really really good. I'm not sure how many ways they can tell the same story and still have it entertaining, but they did an excellent job.

    8/10

Is that mysterio at the end even though it sounded like norman osbourne green goblin? I liked it. The action scene in this movie is way better than the original. Garfield skinny frame makes him look more flexible with speed than toby curvy frame where it make him look slow. The only thing i hate is the lovey dovey part.

Movie was great. I thought mcguire was too stupid looking in the older movies. THis is new kid is a little dorky but not as bad. emma stone is only 100 times better than kristen dunst.

it was a pretty intense movie. looking forward to the sequel.

How I wish that was actually Mysterio. Probably one of my top 3 Spidey villains.

Saw the movie yesterday. Loved it. Though Garfield was believable and Emma Stone did very well. Those two just clicked. The film was paced perfectly with a gripping climax.

I give it a 7.5/10. I think its a great setup for future sequels.

Late to the party, but giving it a 6.5/10.

Liked the origins twist but hated the fact that
he needed the help of the cranes and was stopped by every superhero's greatest weakness, bullets.

Emma Stone and supporting cast do good jobs...this Spidey I also liked at the beginning but then he got all emo and annoying. Just do your job dammit.

    PS:
i still don't understand how this kid makes the money to afford the web material. Does it squirt out of his neck at certain points so he makes his own? Does he steal it from the company? But, if the company's founder is in jail and the company faces billions of dollars in stock losses and property damage, how can the company be soluble enough to continue making web byproduct for him to purchase?

The IRS needs to find Peter Parkers file.

Regarding the seemingly endless amount of webbing, I presume that yes he just took it from the company One scene showed that he had an entire case of "refills" and in doing research he discovered that each cartridge held hundreds/thousands of meters of the material (a convenient plot filler).

Of course what bothered me was the laughably lax security within the corporation. Motion sensors/security cameras don't exist? Really??

Would've just been more believable if he busted in.

Since Oscorp is finished as company, I would also presume that, as some of their products are important to various industries, they will still be made. Still, how will Parker get access to more cartridges in the future?
