which is why we partake in a 3 way with LA and get Bynum...at least we have a better shot at him resigning 1) Lin 2) Lamb 3) White 4) Parson 5) Bynum or 1) Lin 2) Lee 3) White 4) Parsons 5) Bynum
I'm tired .. 1) Lin 2) Lamb 3) Parsons 4) White 5) Bynum 0r 1) Lin 2) Lee 3) Parsons 4) White 5) Bynum
I'm hoping for Lin/Ish Jrich/Lamb (eventually I think Lamb would start) Parsons/Forbes Motiejunas/Davis DH or AB/Asik
What are the odds of this happening? If the Howard trade does not go through, and we keep our current lineup (minus kevin martin) and play with this very young team for the season, where does that leave the Rockets for next offseason in free agency and the draft? Number one I really don't know how Morey did this, he has four rookies this season, morris essentially a rookie. Then you have Lin who has started less then thirty games, parsons a second year player, and last but not least patterson who missed a lot of his second year from injury. I almost forget Asik if he were to sign he would be getting starter minutes for the first time as a player. And if that is not enough youth and fresh legs for a team, you have a minimum of two first round picks and maybe three if the Mavs end up giving the Rockets the pick they owe. So what are the odds of this happening the Rockets play out this season with who they currently have. And end up with what i think would be a top 10 pick plus Toronto's (i do not think they will make the playoffs) and maybe the mavs pick, you could then trade those two or three picks plus a player(s) for shabazz or noel. In free agency if you could convince Andrew Bynum to come to Houston as a free agent would be the biggest if in my opinion. But instead of trading everything for a chance that Howard would resign in Houston, I suppose you would be taking a chance that Bynum would chose to come to Houston. Thats a million ifs buuuut you could have a starting lineup that looks like this starting two seasons from now. pg Lin Dragic sg Shabazz Lamb sf Parsons Jones Morris pf D Mo White Patterson C Bynum Asik In this scenario a player or two would be gone to move up in the draft. If the Rockets do not trade for Howard and the Rockets do end up having two or three picks in the draft next year i don't see how Morey would end up keeping them all and not try to trade up or for a player to pair with Bynum there would just be too many players. Next step i guess is seeing if Bulls match for Asik... stay tuned.
Lin/Machado JRich/Lamb Parsons/White Patterson/D-Mo Dwight/Asik Dwight/JRich for Martin/Jones/Morris/TOR pick/DAL pick/2x NY 2nd round picks Douglas/Livingston - Trade fodder
Well, as of now our starters would probably be: Lin Martin Parsons Patterson Montejunas But if we can make a trade for Bynum or Howard things get really interesting - (Howard trade, sign Asik, giving up Lamb/Patterson) Lin/Douglass Richardson/Livingston Parsons/Turkoglu Montejunas/Jones Howard/Asik (Bynum trade, same scenario, basically switiching Dwight with Bynum) Lin/Douglass Richardson/Livingston Parsons/Hedo Montejunas/Jones Bynum/Asik Either of those linups looks pretty damng good to me. Everyone doesn't want Magic players, but let's not forget they were actually a pretty damn good team, taking some bad contracts might help us out actaully. Of course a few things will probably be switched, but if we can pull off a trade for Howard or Bynum, I really like this team next year.
Maybe not the playoffs but I hope they can stay competitive while improve their games as season goes by.
PG: Lin SG: Martin SF: Parsons PF: Patterson C: Asik If the Rockets can land Asik. Otherwise, there is no clear center on the roster, although D-Mo has looked like he could eventually become a center in the Summer League (he only weighs 225 pounds). As an item of note, there is not one first year play in that lineup, and only one second year player (Parsons). The beauty of this lineup is it gives the young players the ability to develop with less pressure.
Serious or Sarcastic? Maybe in 2016 Our rooks are nice building blocks but lets not lose our heads. They NBA is far different from Summer League. Let us give our guys time to grow into those expectations. If everyone gets too high on them now you will all turn on them when the don't live up to YOUR hype. They can potentially reach those levels but not right away.
Lin Lamb Parsons DMO Asik Tank city baby, and I will watch every game and love it, because I know in a few years we will be better for it. Keep the picks and sign bynum or howard in free agency next year, now that would be a beastly team.
All signs points towards: Lin / Douglas / Forston / Livingston J-Rich / Duhon Parsons Patterson / D-Mo / White Howard / Asik That team is going nowhere, because our guard rotation would suck and we have no real back up SF.
Lin/Machado/Livingston Lamb/Douglas/Livingston Parsons/Jones/Royce Pat/D-Mo/Jones/Royce Asik/D-Mo/Harrelson
It'll be funny if we end up looking like Jazz of old halfway through the season. With starter being all light skinned. Lin Zoran (somehow beats out Martin/Lamb) Parsons DMo Asik
Agreed. He's actually the most NBA-ready of the three. Now what to do with Marcus Morris?... our #5 PF.
Well, if no more trades go through... Jeremy Lin/Toney Douglas Kevin Martin/Jeremy Lamb/Gary Forbes Chandler Parsons/Royce White/Marcus Morris Pattrick Patterson/Terrence Jones/JaJuan Johnson Omer Asik/Donatas Motiejunas/Josh Harrellson/Greg Smith With Smith, Harrellson and Johnson being the 13th-15th men. We'll probably cut everyone else. Clearly, we have far too many forwards on this team. Motiejunas isn't really fit to play center full time. How are we going to split time between him, Patterson, Jones, White, and Morris? If we do a trade for Howard, we would of course be dumping Martin and our picks. We'd also need to give them some of our forwards. If Lamb is the deal breaker, so be it. I'm not sure how to make the salaries work out. Houston Receiving: Dwight Howard and Jason Richardson Orlando Receiving: Kevin Martin, draft picks, Jeremy Lamb, Royce White, and whomever else is needed (The trade worked when I also added Patterson, Morris, Livingston, and Brockman in the machine. Strangely, it says TJ is signed like Donuts.) So, after the trade and some new signings. Jeremy Lin/Toney Douglas/Scott Machado Jason Richardson/Alonzo Gee Chandler Parsons/Gary Forbes Donatas Motiejunas/Terrence Jones/JaJuan Johnson Dwight Howard/Omer Asik/Josh Harrellson/Greg Smith This line-up would certainly make it easier to get some PT for our players. Howard would shoot us to playoff contention automatically. Richardson provides some veteran presence. Lin and Parsons have chances to become greater; Motie and TJ could be all-stars. Championship caliber? No. But definitely play-off bound. Perhaps even more potential if all our young guns develop as we hope they will.
