It sure seems like they totally intend to keep Lee and have him be a core of the team. They will sign him once they get the entire team put together. They don't want his contract to have a hold on the direction of the team.

Lee is a good friend of Dwight's, so if Morey can fit him into the cap, why wouldn't he? There's only so much money to throw around, though.

I'm wondering if we're not going to reward PHX for doing a S&T of Goran with us by sending them Smith or Luer.

Mayo signed for $4M with the Mavs. The market for a bigger contract isn't there and he even said Mavs were an option for being overpaid on a 1 yr deal. That's not possible now.

It looks like Morey will overpay Lin but put the squeeze on CLee because he can.

If we can keep lee, sign lin and asik, while getting dwight. I'll explode.

We'l have Lin Lee Asik and dwigh add in the bad contract we take back, maybe patterson or morris. 1 or 2 out of our 3 rookies, the couple D leaguers that make the team and we'l be in great shape

    dream roster
    Lin-Douglas-Machado
    Lee-Richardson-Dragic
    Richardson-White-Forbes
    Asik-Motiejunas-Jones
    Dwight-Asik

I like Morey but i feel like he games guys already in our organization a bit too much. This leads to unhappy players. I'd like to see Clee get a 3 year 12 mil deal.

Not sure if this has been asked yet...

Can we change omers offer sheet at the last minute like we did with lin?? Whether it be more or less, what are the odds this happens??

I really want to retain courtney lee. I think he is a solid shooting guard that most importantly plays good defense. If we are going to get Lin we need a guy like Lee.

Could we? Sure. Will we? Highly unlikely. We are already playing the cap room dancing game with a Howard trade possibly on the horizon. Not to mention Morey would piss off another franchise. If try to make it less, you piss of Asik and his agent.

That's what I'm saying. If morey decides that he wants the bulls to match Do you see him lowering the offer?

Asik still has to sign the offer. If the Rockets played that game he could just see what else he can get on the market

I'm sure Morey still wants Asik, and has done his homework on what signing him would do to the cap and a potential Dwight howard trade. But lets say he suddenly doesn't want Asik. I don't see anything he could really do short of lowering the amount, and I'm sure that's the last thing he would want to do. He can't even make the offer even out yearly (8/8/8 instead of 5/5/15) for Chi, because they aren't allowed to pay him more than 5mil the first 2 years.

Lee will most likely get at least $5 Mil per. Remember Minnesota is about to lose their bid on Batum and the Suns are still looking for a two guard. I feel Lee has not signed anywhere because he knows he can get a tad bit over $5 Million from the Rockets or he would have taken the mid level somwhere else by now.

Do you guys think any possible trade with orlando will come right after the Asik contract offer? Or are the Rockets still going to hold off on other things? and what is the hold up with courtney lee?

The hold up with Lee (imo) is that the Rockets are trying to keep his rights while they sort through the Dwight situation. In order to sort that out they need to sort out the Lin/Asik situations.

My personal feeling is that if the ROX get Dwight they will keep Lee. If they ultimately can't get Dwight they will probably lose Lee, hopefully via sign and trade.

Here's what I would do: Sign Asik to the offer sheet, get his cap hold officially on the books. Go to Orlando, tell them "here it is", we have 15mil left of cap space, we can take ~13mil of your bad contracts. Insist on J. Richardson as insurance for the SG position, since we are losing Matrtin and Lamb could possibly be going out. See what Chi does, if they don't match, great. You have a young elite rim protector and a starter until Howard is healthy. If they do match, offer a contract to DH's buddy C. Lee, and maybe sign some veterans who may be ring chasing with the room you save. Or save the money for next summer.

This since it seems like Lamb will be included any deal in netting Bynum or Howard.
