As Marlo Stanfield would say, they want it to be one way, but it's the other.

I think I read somewhere that the players union sided with the rockets timeline.

Of course they would. If teams could waste time it costs other free agents' money.

The league is watching this ya'll, not going to help our already poor reputation as an organization.

That would lead me to believe that they might in fact match it. Otherwise, why would they care? Unless they so thoroughly dislike the Rockets that they are throwing a fit over not being able to make them wait one more day to issue their offer sheet to Asik.

    Boohoo New York.

Morey should have sent the offer sheet to them with a picture of the 94 Championship trophy attached.

Not a chance given they just signed Kidd, Felton, and the Italian dude.

This is their way of "sticking it to Houston" by trying to filibuster an inevitable deal.

The Knicks perceive that the Rockets somehow screwed them over. By trading them Camby and then adding $6mil to Lin's final year. Weird, given that they've basically been screaming to anyone who'd listen how they'd match any contract offered. In fact, the Rockets didn't even make the biggest possible offer, which would be 4yr/$40mil.

Also, Grunwald has been a dick since his Toronto days when he publiclly announced and rescinded the Damon Stoudamire trade to the Rockets. So the guy is not exactly the most professional GMs around.

This is a pretty pathetic attempt by the Knicks. They're just butt hurt that morey always takes advantage of them.

This is why Knicks will never win a championship. There front office is crap.

So if there is a grey area as to whether this is tonight or tomorrow night, would that stop us from offering Asik?

I would assume we would be able to offer Asik at midnight if we wanted. This is all I care about so that we can free ourselves up for a potential Dwight trade.
