i didn't search. I figured someone else would have asked by now and checked the posts going backwards.

I guess...seems more about logic than forum involvement though...plus, fwiw, he's been here longer than i have..

If it's that easy to start a new thread than why shouldn't you if you have a legit question? I'm glad he asked the question because I was wondering the same thing, and even though I'm a daily CF reader, I refuse to read every page of every thread. I'll probably read the last two and go from there. I see the thread nazi's are out today trying to get there post numbers up.

You need hundreds of post count to know that you look to the back of the thread for the most recent news?

Dude c'mon anyone who's ever been in a forum before should know that stuff. The OP's just a lazy ass who couldn't even look up the 2nd to the last page of the STICKIED thread. Lock this **** up.

And this was one the third to last page of the Asik thread.

    Common sense folks. Start backwards.

If you're wondering the same thing, why don't you go to the stickied thread at the very top of the forum? No one's asking you to read every page of every thread, all you need to do is look at the last 1-3 pages and the most relevant info would be in there.

There's a reason why people don't want multiple threads for the same topics, the most recent news gets posted in different threads and its hard to know whats going on, and then you'll have even more people creating threads like these.

What's worse, the ubiquitous extra thread or the next 20 replies bashing the guy for starting it?

What came first, the chicken or the egg?

Once this thread gets merged into the merge thread, all your replies about starting your own thread won't make any sense and will just add to the problem.

How many replies does it take to say, "Don't start new threads?"

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie roll pop?

    The world may never know.

And one final question before I stop:

Will the "don't start a new thread" replies outnumber the "in before the lock" replies?

Does Miller Lite taste great, or is it less filling?

I disagree. Often times multiple threads are a much better way of obtaining information than one 100+ page thread that you have to dig through to *maybe* find an answer. Why not just create a new one? Once the answer is found the thread will die and be out of the way. It's not really that big of a deal.

I've never understood why people make such a big fuss about new threads. I get the ones that are completely useless like "LETS TRADE FOR ____" or "JEREMY LAMB IS MY NEW FAV PLAYER". Legitimate questions that most people are probably wondering are exactly the type of grounds for new threads. It's not very efficient to look for information buried in huge thread with mostly useless posts.

If one person would just answer the question in the first few posts everyone would be happy and the thread would die off or become a starting point for good discussion. Instead hordes of morons have to unnecessarily post **** like "IBTL" "Y U NO POST IN OTHER THREAD DUMMY" and other useless posts.

If you know the answer, post it. Otherwise just move on. It's really not that hard to ignore a thread if you feel like it's redundant.

You must be a democrat. They can never understand why it not OK to add a new agency to the government when there is already an agency handling the very thing the new agency is supposed to do.

I can agree somewhat, but i dont think this was the case with this question. The first logical place to check out would be the end of the Asik stickied thread. I can understand not wanting to read back 8 pages, or even 5...but 2 or 3? Plus, you should, at least, try to ask your question in a relevant thread.

Threads are merged because people keep starting threads when they shouldn't.................

just go ask this question in the Asik thread next time. You would of had in answer in under a minute.

May I add, the Mods usually merge these threads into their proper place or, in most cases, lock them up!!! You not understanding why people get upset about these threads leaves you in a minority usually held at the same level of esteem on the board as your common troll.

I'm not speaking solely of this thread. Honestly I hadn't even tried to look in the other thread because I really didn't care that much :p

But the fact that I saw this thread was nice because it answered a question that I was mildly interested in without actually having to search for it.

Regardless though, I agree with the sentiment against multiple threads on the same topic because it waters down discussion and many well thought our posts get lost as a result. However, as far as decently important (this is probably a very important piece of the Rockets' offseason) questions go, I would not mind seeing new threads for them just so relevant info doesn't get lost in a massive thread.
