    +1

As much as I like Asik's game, and think he's got the ability to be a defensive game-changer, Lin is much, much more important to this team.

From a financial point of view for the franchise yes I agree, but from a basketball point of view I'll take Asik as more important. Bigs are harder to aquire.

    I hope we get Asik.
I know its against the odds,

Watching summer league, I'm thinking this...

    Lin
    Lamb
    White
    Dmo
    Asik

And we've still got Jones, Parsons, Patterson, and Martin.
Machado, ... I like who we have.

Trading away this young talent for someone established is reminding me of Horry and Cassell for Barkley (I know, they were NBA champs, and these guys are completely unproven, but it reminds me of that situation nevertheless).

Having Asik may be the difference between a winning first season, building up these rooks (with some D behind them), and a loosing season destroying their self confidence.

No, i hope he doesn't average even 5 a game.
I hope his head is so focused on D
That offense has bee erased from his mind.
Lol seriously though he'd be here to protect the paint and rebound
Offense would be the last thing we'd give him that money for

I would still have to start Parsons, I think he will be better this year now that he has had time to adjust.

He essentially plays goalie; those guys don't score a lot...

He's a big boy. He's making 25 million. Just because he's focused on D doesn't mean he can't average 8 to 10 a game in an extended role.

I'm curious as to why you're rooting against him scoring. It's not impossible to have a defensive specialist who can score. You can find them all around the league.

Asik can be the defensive anchor in the post when Howard is on the bench, or if we don't get the big fella. It's the main thing we need him for, and he can either grow with the team (he's young), or be easily traded should we decide to go another way. I also think that he can get better on offense. He just needs better coaching in that aspect of the game (Asik got great coaching from Thibs on the defensive side, a huge plus) and a point guard in an offense that can get him easy buckets, IMO.

Camby could've done the same thing for less money and is more veteran savy, that's all I'm saying..

Ben Wallace never averaged 10 points in one season...and his career average is less than 6.

If Asik is averaging 10 points a game, then that means we are in MAJOR trouble.

If he can average 7-8 points a game, that would be very nice. He doesnt have the offensive ability to do more than that...and if he's being asked to do more than that, then it means the rest of the team cant score.

I hope we get Asik or do a sign n trade for him.

want to trade Martin, 2Pat, Parson. I really dont want to but since Jones is doing great in summer league avg 16 ppg with 6 or 7 Rebounds. i wouldn't mine giving him chance to start.

    PG: Lin
    SG: Lamb
    SF: Jones / White
    PF: Donuts
    C: Asik / Smith

What do you guys think about this line up instead of Howard for Rental?

Why would Howard be a rental? Where would he go?

    Camby is older than dirt.

He couldn't give you starter's minutes if needed.

He has no room for growth.

By the time we're contending, he'll be collecting social security.

Asik could be here another 10 years.

What good does Camby do a rebuilding team...?
