Apparently others are learning to embrace the concept of "assets."

I hope that's not the case... They should be penalized for doing something like that, the offer was sent out via fedex or whatever since Saturday I believe...

You can bet that if there's any question about anything regarding this deal, the league, AKA Stern, will lean towards the Knicks. Mad Dog Stern treats the Rockets like a red-headed stepchild.

If it gets extended out I think that means they weren't going to match anyway. If they plan to match I think they'll do it by midnight tonight. Reason being, they won't want to take the risk that the league rules they went past the deadline and Lin is officially a Houston Rocket.

Now, if they don't intend to match and just want to make the wait as long for the Rockets as possible, then sure. It could drag out.

I believe if they want to match Lin's offer, they will do this by 6pm, so that the Knicks will be talk of the day. I do not think they will do this when most of USA is sleeping.

They have decide by tonight. I doubt they will match since it is just to try to get to the Rockets and messing their plans. I am sure they were hoping that the Magic would get their deal with other teams solidified by now. I believe things with the Magic will pick up once Amer's offer sheet gets done. The Rockets are in a good position to deal with the Magic, even if Dolan at the last monment decides to go ahead and go against his basketball team and match Lin's contract.

Jimmy Colan will sign Lin. He's just prolonging the anticipation and waiting for MSG stocks to boom the moment the news comes out. Simple plan. Everything else you've heard from the Knicks' side the likes of - Knicks furious with Lin signing poison pill contract - is utter propaganda.

Hook, line and sinker. All of you.

Nice third post buddy. I wonder what the other two were?

There are legitimate reasons for them not to match on Lin. I think it's more likely that they will match and retain him. It's quite possible they will let him go though. I'm 60/40 that they match.

Can the Rockets sue the Knicks and the league if they do something shady?

if they match, i think it means they found a way to avoid that tax and the transaction restrictions. by a doable plan to unload one of their big contracts, or maybe via wink wink with the league office that the new cba lux tax provisions will somehow someway not be taking effect

Screamin' A: Lin won't be matched by the Knicks from what I'm hearing. As of last night and this morning, Knicks hellbent on not matching. ... From NY, you hear more and more about the head is growing too big and becoming too cocky. Not [as much] a team guy as they'd like.
