Melo calling Lin contract ridiculous was an absolute joke.

It's no secret he doesn't like Jeremy Lin. All Lin did was turn the knicks into a TEAM and prove that Melo is the most selfish, ball-stopping, player ever to lace up sneakers.

I'm glad Lin appears to be headed to Houston. He's too good of a kid to be stuck with Melo, Amare, Felton, etc. And he's too good of a teammate to be wasted on NY!

Good lock Jeremy. You deserve everything you get. And Melo deserves everything that's coming to him.

although i'd be happy with Lin, he is NOT worth the average of 8.3 million for 3 years. (i know about the poison pill, which is why i said average).

like someone mentioned in an article....lin was just making a one comma salary before this. and for him to make more money than the likes of j.r. smith who have been in the nba alot longer would cause some bad chemistry in the locker room.

i do agree with you though TC about melo not liking lin all that much for making it look like melo is the problem with the team.

On another note, Melo looks to have put on more FAT, his face look wider and chubbier, or maybe it was just my TV

Melo should have shut up. I dont think he is a racist, like many have claimed. But their is some jealousy of Lin

Players in the NBA get overpaid all the time, wont be the first or last time someone of Lin's calibur gets vastly overpaid

I have to wonder if Melo thinks its ridiculous to pay him $19,450,000 to lose basketball games .... or is it just ridiculous to pay Lin?

according to math he IS worth the average of 8.3 million for 3 years.

    you want the maths?

as far as JR Smith what would cause the bad chemistry is the fact that JR Smith is a huge douche and selfish b*stard. I didn't realize that salaries in the NBA were doled out purely by seniority instead of merit.

as far as I know JR Smith didn't make Dolan $600 million last year, win them 12 games, have the best +/- on the team and basically save their season.

JR Smith didn't resolve the Time Warner dispute and get the Knicks back on for millions of Dolan's fans either.

did he? I thought he didn't. maybe JR Smith is dat awesome tho. damn JR didn't know you roll like that.

    PAY. THIS. MAN.

Especially when Amare was going so well before his arrival. They also started winning with Lin. It's totally ridiculous for him to be complaining about Lin when the team didn't start winning till he got there.

The contract is ridiculous. The only saving grace is that Jeremy has a good persona who should try to play up to the money.

He was the one who told coach to put Lin in the starting lineup.

No actually he wasn't. that was a lie most likely concocted by Stephen A Smith to make Melo look good. The former coach Mike Dantoni pretty much denied it. Also ESPN radio played a video recording of Grunwald and he said the decision to play him was made by Dantoni and the GM because Lin was playing well in practice.

The only reason this is a story at all is because Lin was in New York. Dragic was given a larger contract with an almost identical track record. While I would prefer Dragic, the difference is not that substantial. The contract Lin signed was offered by a team under the cap with no PG, so it makes sense for them. The fact that NY is even considering a contract that could cost them $53M in the final year is proof enough that the contract is not unreasonable.
