Ahh okay I understand what you mean, thanks. Only thing is,we are gambling on him not being able to walk away from the money. That gamble only starts after the trade deadline. It's more likely we wouldn't get anything back. If it were me, I'd still trade for him and try.

I agree to a point, but it happens. Jerryd Bayless was scoring probably 30 per game in summer league and it took him 4-5 seasons to finally do something in the NBA and even then he's not AMAZING.

I was impressed that Motiejunas can shoot the ball with either hand. I think he had kind of a baby hook shot with his right hand on one shot tonight. The only thing that Motiejunas is missing, is about 25 pounds of muscle. He's only 21 years old, so he'll get a lot stronger over the next few years. He'll probably get pushed around a lot by the big men in the paint for a while, but I'm really encouraged by what I'm seeing.

My fear with this is that what we get wouldn't be as promising and as valuable as what we gave to Orlando to get him. Also do you think it is possible, that he could figure that what money he loses from not signing a contract with a team that has his Bird Rights -say the Rockets if we trade for him - can be made up for in the endorsements that he may feel would be more plentiful in say a bigger market like LA? It has also been suggested that he is a personality that craves celebrity.

Well, he could become a free agent next offseason and we could still work out a sign and trade...similar to what we did with Camby this offseason and what we may do with Lee. The sign and trade option will be available until he decides to go off on his own to sign with another team. I just cant envision what team that could be, bc either the team wont have cap space or the team wont be in a winning position...in which case, money talks and he returns to Houston.

Who knows when you get a chance to have a top 5 player in the NBA. They come around every decade...and given the Rockets struggles over 15 years, I'd say you have to take a shot at it.

So then you agree, not to a point, but all the way?

Yeah, he could make more in endorsements in NY or LA...but there is almost 0% chance he would be able to play for them, unless he goes for a contract that pays him a few million a year. His best shot was to opt out of his contract last season...and now he has to face the consequences. He just doesnt have many options at his disposal.

    We'll see.

If that's the case, and there is no other viable option for him to sign with in the 2013-14 season due to cap space restraints, and we have the cap space in that year; I say don't trade for him now, and just wait for him to become a free agent, and then offer him the best deal. Once again, not a capologist, so If I am incorrect here, please educate, thx.

Houston's advantage in trading for him is to get his Bird rights. If he is a free agent, then Houston offers no advantage to him...a team with cap space can offer him just as much as Houston. However, if we trade for him, then we can outbid every team in the NBA.

Why has Ish Smith not been playing? Is he injured? Him running the point would make the games even more fun to watch.

    Terrence Jones OR Chase Budinger?

C.Bud was traded for the 18th pick that turned into T.Jo.

Who will be better this season?
Who will be better in 2 seasons?
Who will be better in 3 seasons?

Zoran needs to play point. He's crazy good driving the ball. Machado looks great if he isn't shooting or taking it inside. If he plays in the NBA he just needs to pass. But Lin is starting and White is handling the ball for the second team, Zoran would be better.

White is looking like a 6th man, so unconventional, so fun to watch.

Dmo just need muskles. Get him with a nutritionist and weight coach now.

Lamb is a 12 year player. I'd go ahead sign him to an extension now. Just a 'whole career' deal.

Zoran may be capable of playing backup point guard. Not very excited about that prospect though. Means we couldn't find a real point guard to backup Lin or whoever ends up there.

    Shawn Livingston?

I assume only one of those guys makes the team. Machado probably goes to the Vipers.

For everyone that has you on ignore to laugh at.

Chase is a very good jump shooter but is not aggressive enough, and is lacking in defense and size. T-Jo is capable of being a 2-way player, a much better defender than Chase, a much better rebounder than chase, and much better scoring in the paint. T-Jo can also play the 4 spot. So would say T-Jo over Chase for all 3 seasons in all categories except jump shooting.
