Lets remember for the first half of Dre's career he played with one of the worst Oline's of all time and then as a result a bust of a QB.

Most NFL guys will tell you, you don't put a QB behind a terrible line. Of course some of it was Carr's fault, but the fact still remains...that was one of the worst Olines of all time.
I think if you are talking about a younger AJ versus the present Megatron, it'd be a wash. Sure you look at AJ's touchdown numbers and it's not great but if anyone watched the Texans you can't say that the redzone offense during AJ's career was...*ahem*...efficiently called/ran. As for Fitzgerald, I think he's a world class WR but this is where lining up Anquan Boldin helped him out so much. If AJ had a teammate of Boldin's caliber his numbers would have been better.
how are you going to get yards and TDs, if the QB and the O-line, had the record in most sacks during one season. AJ in his prime was amazing, people really dont remember because the texans were a bad team, and people didnt watch them.
I would absolutely agree. Carr was very good AJ's second year; otherwise, he was below-average (at best) and it (along with several other factors, frankly) undoubtedly handicapped AJ's production. I would make the same argument for Fitz, btw. Not a coincidence his best years - far and away - were with Warner under center. Still, AJ did catch 311 passes from Carr and only scored 17 TDs. And although his TDs have increased since 2007 (35 TDs among 396 receptions), it's still not a particularly good percentage. If AJ scored TDs at the same rate as Randy Moss did, AJ would have *61* more career TDs. That's nearly seven more *a season*. Terrell Owens? 48 more. Calvin Johnson? 40. Even Fitzgerald's pace - and he's played with a gaggle of QBs as bad as Carr - would net AJ 22 more career TDs. I don't think it diminishes his career because he's obviously been a great WR. But in terms of all-time status? I think it's absolutely a big hurdle and I wouldn't be surprised if it, along with playing in Houston for bad teams, keeps him out of the HoF. +++ Oh, and while I'm here, generally speaking - no offense: but to *any*one that would take AJ over Calvin Johnson at *any* point is straight crayzee, yo. That guy has the potential to be an all-time game-changer. He's comparable to Moss in his prime - but far more complete as a weapon. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like him. And talk about crappy QBs - he's been playing with Dan Orlovsky, etc. If Stafford stays healthy.........
Larry has better hands than AJ. AJ has waaay too many drops to be an elite receiver, while still lacking TDs.
I wonder what type of #'s Larry Fitzgerald put up with Kolb and Skelton throwing him the ball last season? Plus who was their number 2 receiver? Lol............
1400 yds 8 TDs. If I needed just one catch that had to be made I don't think there is anyone better than fitz.

I did say "support the notion". Meaning its a notion from "out there" thats not mine Its what OTHERS say or what I hear. Kubiak does have a redzone tight ends and backs fetish. Its how Joel Dreesen looks like a boss. I already know that Andre has to score on a run after the catch, or get some Herculean "signature spike pic" grab to punch it in. The Texans led the league in run plays last season, so its not like they're firing the ball everywhere now Saints and Packers style. Diminished opportunities. (There is irony that a player gets credited for making everyone better. Then a player's value gets judged by how DEPENDENT the team is on him. If he's making everyone better, they should be better WITHOUT him too So Andre helped the QBS throw the ball more accurately to other receivers. Thats intangible value he should be credited with)
I've always seen it this way. Most athletic - CJ Best hands - Fitz Most well-rounded - AJ CJ is undoubtedly the most dangerous weapon in football today. He's a nightmare to cover. The definition of a homerun hitter. Fast, tall, and can jump out of the building. Larry Fitzgerald can get open on just about anybody and make some stupidly hard catches. I don't think I've ever seen him drop a ball before. Super productive. Andre Johnson can do everything, but he's not the best in any one particular category. He's made some cornerbacks his b***h like CJ, and he's able to reel in some insane catches every once in a while too. But you know where he really shines? Dirty work. Arguably the best blocking WR in the game, he's never given up on a play in his life, and nobody is more feared (or consistent) over the middle of the field than he is. So, take your pick. You want homeruns? Go with CJ. You want superglue hands? Fitz. You want a little of both plus something on the side? Go with AJ.
Fitz gives you both. Calvin is just so far and above everyone from a pure talent standpoint that it just isn't fair. AJ can get it done, but needs to be on the field.
He's not the physical specimen AJ or CJ are. He's listed as 6'3", but I have my doubts. Doesn't really matter though, because he has nutso leaping ability. His route running and hands are the biggest strength of his game, though. His other attributes, while not lacking, do not outshine AJ or CJ's respective strengths.
