I guess Larry Brown is racist too since he said that Lin is not starter in this league. Just stop it. He's got weaknesses all over the place, he can't defend, he can't go left and he can't run the team.

Stop what? I'm on record as saying Jeremy Lin is waaay overhyped and Linsanity is truly insanity. But for Melo and JR Smith to speak out like they did is a huge exception to an unwritten rule for NBA players. How many times do NBA players criticize highball contract offers to other players?

I guess reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

Regardless, Lin is, will, and could start on an NBA team. If a backup can average 14-20 ppg with 6-8 assists, he's a pretty damn good backup wouldn't you say.

Lin can't defend or run a team, well neither can Carmelo Anthony or JR Smith. How come you aren't making threads about them.

JR Smith should have went to college... if you're in sales and the bozo next to you is racking in 500k in deals per year while you're only bringing in 80k - he's getting paid more.

Like it or not - Lin brings in the cash. That's that.

In basketball, winning is only a small piece of the equation. Revenue is also important.

The customer support team in a business is essential to "winning", they play on the same team as the sales guy, but they're not driving the revenue directly.

Lin is a great sales guy. JR Smith, he's an intern that drinks a lot of coffee and throws out a bunch of ideas - some of which hit and others miss. That's JR Smith - 2mil.

They should be mad..... mad that Melo and Amare are way overpaid. You have two max players on the team and still couldn't do jack until Lin got his opportunity.

This will be the 3rd time I have mentioned this....but whoever moderates this board. Step your game up.

I got neg' repped because I simply replied "shut up" to one of the most nonsensical idiotic poster we have on this board. By the reasoning that "Telling someone to shutup is never acceptable"....

.....on the other hand. This dude just sits around trolling while everyone calls for him to be kicked and what happens. Mod sits on hands.

I don't know if it's just Clutch or what...and I'm not looking the gift horse in the mouth....I love this board. But that beg rep gave me a ridiculously bad taste in my mouth and it only worsens when I see crap like this go unnoticed.

JR Smith is more like the intern who sags his pants, comes in with his tattoos showing, comes to work later, constantly hitting on the maintenance lady, and gives an occasional good idea or two, yet does not put in the work to make those ideas come true.

Yep, race has to be an issue. If Jeremy was another race, we would be talking about his potential rather than his demise. Those players coming out of 1 year of college play roughly the same # of games as Jeremy and all of a sudden it's all about potential and Jeremy is about too small a sample size.

We should know as Rocket fans. When Yao first came into the league, what happened?

The truly "ridiculous" contract on the Knicks is Amare's. One could also argue giving Jason Kid 3yrs/$9 million is crazy too since he's 39 years-old.

20 points, 8 assists, 2 steals per 36. I can live with turnovers if he can give me that as well.

If Jermey Lin was black he wouldn't get $30M....it goes both way.

Don't forget 4mil for 3 years + a couple 2nd rounders and a few scrubs to get 40 year old, injury prone Camby.

If Lin is a starter on the Knicks, he instantly becomes that team's biggest star, not their best player, but their biggest star, and Marshmallow doesn't like that one bit. Remember, Marshmallow craved the limelight of NYC, and he doesn't want to share that limelight with anyone.

The funny thing is that all Marshmallow had to do is keep his mouth shut, and play the innocent, but he had to open his stupid mouth and turn NY fans against him.

    What an idiot.

He is not better point guard than Raymond Felton and Felton got 10M/3year while Lin got 28M/3 year. Go figure.

Race indeed goes both ways and that is the issue here, but how do you know he wouldn't get it? Just so I understand: You are saying Morey wouldn't offer Lin a "ridiculous contract" if he was black?

Nicolas Batum got a stupid contract offer of 4yrs/$46 million from the T-Wolves, who were also willing to give Portland Derek Williams and two or three 1-round draft choices to do a sign-and-trade. Is that racist too?

Gerald Wallace got 4yrs/$40 million from the Nets? Was race involved in that contract offer?

    Roy Hibbert got $58 million?

    Talk to me.
