    De-schedule mar1juana by executive order.

    http://ouramericainitiative.com/issues/drugs

We advocate a “Don’t do Drugs” policy. Drugs can be harmful, addictive and destructive to our lives and society. The current war on drugs, however, has not been successful. Crime, economic problems and abuse related to drug usage are still very present. We believe there needs to be a new direction in fighting these problems. The Our America Initiative believes that one of the best solutions to help with the many problems caused by drugs is to legalize mar1juana. We do not advocate the legalization of any other drugs and believe that harm reduction measures should be implemented.

mar1juana should be regulated and taxed by the federal government (just like tobacco is currently), which would lead to a lower price for the product and eliminate the criminal element from its distribution, much like the repeal of the prohibition of alcohol many decades back.

The Our America Initiative believes that current drug policies need to be changed. The answer to solving this problem lies in sentencing reform, in supplying treatment on demand, and in honest drug education for our children. We advocate heroin maintenance and other harm reduction measures and believe we should move from a criminal to a medical model of dealing with drug usage. The Initiative thinks that locking up more and more people who are nonviolent drug offenders, people whose real problem is that they are addicted to drugs, is simply a waste of money and human resources and fails to deal with the real problems of abuse. Our goal is to lower the abuse rate in America and we believe a new direction is needed for that to happen.

Finally a Hightop thread whose content I agree with.

Obama is a p***y and, assuming he won the Presidency, Johnson would end the war on drugs.

I hope to someday agree with more than just these two sentences.

Obama will attack the issue in his second term and be a much more aggressive and active president in general.
Right now, he has too much as stake.

Yes. All those arrests and his silence on its morality are all a part of his righteous master plan. But of course.

That's weird, I would have thought you would be against taking actions by executive order.

It has always confused me how the Dems support the war on drugs and gun control yet get black voters.

Why are the majority of blacks in prison? Drug crimes and non violent gun crimes.

Getting stopped by a cop for no turn signal and they find a crappy old 9mm under your seat because NEWSFLASH you live in a rough neighborhood. Next thing you know your doing 10 years. Or you have a crap job and smoke some drugs on the way home and you are now locked up.

Gary Johnson is rich guy who inherited a pile of money. He is a good tactictian for the 1%. He will dangle drug war relief and gay rights etc. in front of the gullible portion of the 99% to keep their support.

    1. Many Democrats don't support said war on drugs.

    2. Most people are not single issue voters.

    Not terribly complicated.

I agree with that. But I don't see how it will "end of the war on drugs", as Hightop said would happen with Gary Johnson.
