We won't be giving up as much as you think, and Howard will likely sign an extension. This thing is probably happening so you're just going to have to get used to it.
Thats just it. He will leave when our short playoff run is done. That is the only thing he can do for us because he isn't willing to stick around for more.
You don't Know that!!! You probably thought Pluto was a planet to!! Haha But if he does stay (not saying he would) how would that be badfor us? You were saying no matter what Dwight to Houst
Oh really? So lets say (which looks good) Lin comes to the Rockets and Howard gets all the major China Market exposure from that. Now which of NBA teams can provide similar exposure, let's assume: Miami, Knicks, Brooklyn, Lakers, Clippers, just because they are huge markets. Dallas is at best the same market size as Houston + no China market, so they aren't any better for Howard. Those 5 teams I named ARE OVER THE CAP FOR 2013-2014. Where is Howard going to go? Dallas, Atl, Charlotte? No team provides more exposure than the Rockets + the Rockets will now be an immediate magnet for another star (which we should have space for), who is available in 2013 HMMM, OH WAIT Dwight's good friend Chris Paul. You take the gamble, I think it is AT WORST a 75/25 proposition that he stays considering there is no one else that can offer all of China + $25 million for the 5th season. Best case, CP3, Dwight, and whoever the hell else making up a team that can possibly beat the Heat.
In all reality, even with great offesasons, we are very unlikely to win a championship within yr next 3-5 yrs. Idk about you guys but I would LOVE to see Howard and Linsanity on the same venue! If we could keep putback parsons, lamb and Donuts, I think that would make for a very exciting season. Even if it's just for a yr. I'm certain with this group we could make a deep playoff run. Tanking isn't that exciting and even that is a risk.
Then my percentage drops to 50/50 between Houston and Dallas, and we still have the 5th year adv, so I say a little edge to Houston.
I don't think he would stay because of the depleted team he would come to. Lakers have a better chance at getting him than we do. He just wants to go to a big name team and Houston is not that right now. Getting Howard would be setting this team up to fail.
probably won't be traded this season for the same reason they didn't trade him last season. they want to give themselves as much time as they can to convince him to stay by remaking the roster. and if he decides to leave its not the teams fault but howard who looks like the deserter. i'm sure they'll work out a S&T for him on the way out though. more money for dwight, and probably a really large TPE for orlando. if this is the case, the rockets are in prime position. they'll have to clear a little more cap, but if they have enough cap space for 2 max contracts, i think they can land dwight and another star, plus what should be a couple of high draft picks from a crappy season and toronto's crappy season. all together that could be the start of a VERY good team.
With what salary cap? You can't just sign a player without having the Salary Cap space. The Lakers have absolutely no chance to sign him.
Exactly, fail right into a lottery pick. What's worse not going to the playoffs and getting a mid-first rounder or tanking hard to get a top pick... I just want this team to take a direction either way.
He ain't going to LA cause he Would just be forgotten in there history... I'm betting he will sign in Texas, he could stay with us if we trade for him or he will go to Dallas. And I'm not really so sure not having superstars right away will scare Dwight away... He doesn't care just about winning! If he did he would of said he wanted to go to OKC and they would of traded Ibaka and Harden for him song time of go!
If the other trade rumors are true, the Cavs have better assets than we do. Also, in pretty much every Dwight rumor, Lakers are involved.
You guys ready for the Media sh!tstorm next year? If we get both Lin and Howard, it'll be like being a Broncos fan last year.
