Well I wanted to be careful not to say superstar..because Lin isn't a superstar, and neither were the 4 you listed. DEFINITELY were beloved in Houston, but by no means elite players that we couldn't live without. IMO Scola was the best of they 4 players you listed...but as me and my buddies nicknamed him "Mr. First Half", he was a superstar in the first half of every game, but just mediocre in the second half. Scola has what it takes to be a superstar, but for whatever reason he is quiet (most of the time) in the second half.
wtf are you talking about? I've been a rockets fan for 20 years! what have I said in this thread that would give you ANY indication that I wasn't. God D**N some people are just ignorant. Do I need to post pictures of me at rockets games to prove it?
Ok, so you're a fan. Fine, just not a good one apparently. Houston hasn't lost any beloved players since Hakeem? Ridiculous. You feel sorry for Knicks and their fans??? Even more ridiculous. I'm glad you have a big heart, I just don't think many want to hear about it in regards to the Knicks. Houston is all in trying to land it's superstar it's been lacking, NY has theirs. We've all suffered through years of injuries, lack of playoff appearances and wins... Save it and donate a few dollars to something that matters, don't waste it on the freaking Knicks!!
no man, you misunderstood me. Allow me to set the record straight. Regarding the beloved players comment, I misspoke..I meant Houston hasn't lost a SUPERSTAR that we were just absolutely torn up about. When we lost Landry or Battier or Dragic and Scola..did you feel like their departure was going to hurt our chances to be successful? Landry Scola and Battier along with the Chuck wagon were some of the hardest working players we have ever had, but they were just role players. Dragic was nice but he is pretty similar to Lin in the sense that he got hot after the starter ahead of him got hurt, and still doesn't have a full season as a starter under his belt. Just because Im a Rocket fan doesn't mean I can't feel sorry for the fans of another team..who are the Knicks? they have never beaten us..if I were showing empathy for a Lakers fan then you would have a point. We Rockets fans have suffered for the last 20 years, with our best chance a couple years ago when Yao got hurt vs the Lakers..but people are coming in here accusing me of being an undercover knicks fan because I say they are signing a petition to keep Lin? Im just saying its kind of sad..imagine if that were us.
I'm just giving you a hard time b/c you did exactly what you were calling QQ out on, lol. No hard feelings... we're all Rockets fans Cheers
I don't see it as THAT pathetic Whats the difference between a big Twitter campaign, Facebook group and a fan petition now? Generally petitions are accepted as more "official" professional representation. Though its usually the same kind of people in all of them.
