Morey's biggest risk: Lin or Howard?

How is Lin a risk at all?

We're essentially trading gold for cash, and not the other way around.

 

Dwight is a bigger risk. Morey's basically getting lin for trolling the knicks (if it holds up)

 

In regards to Howard, I mean.

Picks + young players for someone who might not be here next season. Scary.

 

It doesn't matter the Rockets are desperate

 

Howard easily. He has a bad back and doesn't want to be here. I would not touch him until the trade deadline to see if his back is okay.

 

Howard all day, everyday... The dude just had back surgery and good chance he won't sign an extension...

 

Neither, both will generate revenue greater than their salary obligations.

The only risk is if they get injured, and players are always insured for the life of the contract for injury.

In the case of Howard (if we do acquire him), we will undoubtedly get a better look at him and his back and know how well his back will hold up. If the likelihood of a similar injury in the future is high, we can just let him walk and use his $19 million cap hold for other free agents.

The only real risk is if Howard gets injured after a new contract is signed, at which point it is not a financial risk, but hurts the organizations ability to put together a championship caliber team.

 

I completely agree, at least the team doesn't really have to shell out alot of money for Lin until that third and final season. Regardless of what happens, Lin is going to play his a## off and try to prove to the world how good he is.

Howard is like the most toxic risk, yet biggest reward in the equation.

Toxic risk - has public mentioned his desired destinations (Houston not being mention from his camp or Howard personally at any point in the last year), rumored to have opt-in to Orlando (because Houston was the likely destination)

Houston is basically that chubby toad with warts and 4 inch bi focal glasses who keeps trying to court one of the more beautiful women in a beauty pageant, after she's pretty much dropped every hint that she's not interested in him without saying no to his face.

I really think it's in bad business to trade for players who do not want to play for your team, have less than a year to walk away, and probably will not start the season with the team, because of an injury (back surgery). You are also risking losing some young players with alot of potential.

If the league really wants to do damage to Dwight, let him rot in Orlando with his misery.

 

Why are people not excited about getting the best center and a young pg Lin?

We ar trying to build a contender,just trust Morey's plan and quit talking negative about Dwight/Lin.

 

Howard alone makes us a playoff team,lets cheer for the guy people he is about to be a Houston freakin Rocket.

 

Howard. Because the team would be jacked up after getting him.

I think Lin is the bigger risk. I'm not so sure Lin lives up to the hype, small sample size. Did Lin just get hot and play out of his mind? Time will tell. If Lin flops, the contract may be tough to move until you get deep into year 3.

With Howard, you know what you're getting, a superstar. Yes he has a back issue, but I'm under the opinion it won't be something that lingers. If Howard is obtained and decides to leave the Rockets, they rebuild. It should be as simple as that.

 

Obviously Howard. Lin's cost is nothing compared to the crap we will have to give up and take to get Howard.

 

i think there's less pressure now that he's not playing in the bright lights of new york every home game(if they don't match)
