They can't bring him back. It's a p.r. nightmare for them. Dwight will be booed in his home arena every night.

Keep all our rookies and win the lottery have two top five picks next year and let everyone else fight over a sissy with a hurt back that thinks the world owes him.We should only want players that want to be here.

I have a question for you since you seem to have knowledge in this area. It was reported that if Dwight went to the Nets, he would receive a nearly $400 million deal with Adidas. Do think global market deals would possibly pay more? Both Howard and Rose represent Adidas, so would it be possible for Howard to be a spokesman for other companies, while still under contract with Adidas?

A good question regarding Dwight's shoe deal is:

If he can make double in NY or LA over what he can make in Orlando, then what percentage of that double can he make by being in a market like Houston?

I think Dwight knows if he is traded here, with the birds rights contract, and the ability to get a better shoe deal from Adidas than what he currently has (even though it might not be NY/LA dollars), and the ability to become the new emperor of China, combined with lower cost of living and no state income taxes, all those things add up to more net value than simply doubling his shoe contract if he walks to NY/LA.

Where Dwight plays long-term is going to come down to:

    1. Does he feel he can he win a championship(s) with that team?
    2. Does he feel the love from the city?

Rose received $186 million on a 13 year contract with Adidas. He's still getting his money, but then again, his injury wasn't career ending like Yao's. What happens if Rose never plays like he did pre-injury? Who knows what is written into those kind of deals?

Only because I think Richardson can be part of a package to trade for another player like Josh Smith. Otherwise, I would start Richardson over Forbes too. And while not quite the defensive stopper as Sefalosha, Forbes is a better ball handler and distributer to better pair with the more offense oriented Lin.

Does anyone think that there is a way that we can trade for Dwight without giving up Lamb. He would be perfect with Dwight along with Lin, Motie and Parsons too.

right...rose got hurt in the playoffs and he'll be back next season. i wouldn't guess something like that would kill the deal....

im thinking of something more Yao-esque. like there's a minimum number of games threshhold perhaps over x amount of time. otherwise, what exposure is there for the shoe company?

Just to reiterate from late last night, league source has confirmed no merit to #Cavs, Lakers and Magic 3-way trade.

    Jason Lloyd
Couple people I spoke to last night/today believe Magic are driving most of these crazy trade rumors to try & leverage Houston. No one else is really buying it, however.

I think one rookie and one pick might be worth the try but this all seems too much of a headache just for one year.Plus Dwight would kill our Lottery protected pick and then sign with another team.

Man... Have a little more faith in our organization, huh? It has been stated many many many times already that if Morey didn't think he could honestly have Howard sign a long-term extension with Houston, we wouldn't even bother with him.

What a relief. I took Cfer's theories yesterday about these rumors with a grain of salt, but I'll have more faith from now on. ;)

I don't think Morey is trolling though the Internet and overreacting to every Dwight Howard trade rumor that gets leaked, like some of the posters on this board.
He knows how the game is played. We're in good hands.

    I hate rumors.

I figured these rumors of taking 3 or 4 terrible contracts were totally against what Morey usually does.

Sounds to me like someone was either blowing smoke or they were trying to act "like an insider".

Be glad when this whole saga is over... win or lose.

I'm damned sick of it...
