Lin's not a bust. But his defense has to be an area he really works hard at.

Been smoking a little of that cheap saturday-night loco weed eh?

Yao was a circus because he was.. tall??

    LOL

Yao was a celebrity in the NBA for multiple reasons, among them his size. However, he was also supremely talented, he had a marvelous character, and he was CHINESE.

What is the point in pretending this is not reality?

    Maybe he wasn't tall enough?

A freakin' Men. Finally someone with the guts to say it. I mean, look at that circus around Manute Bol and Shawne Bradley. Global megastars.

Because he was only 7'0, instead of 7'6. Duh.

How about the fans that have been here forever?

We welcome more folks, but not at the cost of the product on the court. (or the $$$ Les wants from them) .......We want wins, more titles eventually ....of course. But let's do it the right way. As a native Houstonian, I want this team rebuilt from the ground up, with the players and fans growing together..... Lurch and Co.... teaching, instilling a culture that becomes our identity. Enough with this drafting off Yao ..trolling for $$$$$. In this age of Superfriends, where the state of the game has been compromised, I expect more from our Rockets. It shouldn't be "if you can't beat em, join em." A hastily thrown together collection of talent IS NOT where it's at.

I REALLY hope the Knicks match....doesn't appear like that will happen though.

Downgrading=A fan favorite who will make the all-star team, make the Rockets millions and millions of dollars in revenue, put the Rockets back on National TV and help the Rockets be attractive to superstar free agents.

Not sure about the last part. I've always assumed NBA players look at Lin similar to the way NFL players look at Tebow.

I think guys would definitely be more likely to want to play here if we sign Lin because the exposure will be huge. We'll definitely get some nationally televised games and we will be a team to watch again. Hopefully we'll win too.

He's like Tebow because the team tended to win games when he was starting. But Lin also had impressive individual performances. A core of him and Howard? Sounds pretty good to me, and I'll bet it looks pretty good to other players considering Houston, too.

The Lin bashing is ridiculous. He had a higher PER than both Lowry and Dragic. Dragic only played a handful more games than him as a starter and produced less. You don't average 27 ppg in your first week of starting and NOT be a good player. Look at the company he's with: Iverson, Shaq, MJ... To not acknowledge him as at least a good starter is just straight hating.

I hope to God you're right. Something about his starting stretch just smells flukey to me though. Hopefully I'm just being overly pessimistic.

You can be sure that if the Knicks don't match and Lin ends up in Houston, it will drive the New York-obsessed media insane. But it would be a good move for Lin.

I'm more concerned because when defenses adjusted, like against Miami, Lin was really really off. It's hopefully just an experience issue.

Ya know, one could argue that NY planned on matching both Fields and Lin's offer sheet, and since Lin's became more expensive they used Felton as a cheaper Fields alternative so they can pay for Lin. Kidd got a lot of burn in Dallas at the 2 spot.
