But if they have Felton at that point, they would still not match even if it's 8/8/8, it makes no sense.

Restructuring the Asik offer sheet before it's official is a good point. I'm sure Asik wouldn't say no to getting his money sooner. Maybe that would entice Chi-town to match. It's still a lot of dough for a 15 minute a game center though.

They should just restructure it too 9 Mil/3 yrs. They would easily match that.

But yeah I don't think we can restructure the Lin offer sheet once the sheet is already signed & in. Unless there is some kind of loophole in the league rules which I doubt.

Bima tweeted that even if Bulls/Knicks don't match and we get Asik/Lin, we would still have the capspace to make the Howard trade due to the amnesty of Scola.

I think that would be seen as Morey breaking his verbal agreement with Asik and could provoke legal action. At very least it would damage our reputation and make us look dishonest. Asik would have to get the same $ amount.

So what is this loophole that allows the Rockets to count the Lin deal as 8/8/8 while NYK would have to count it as 5/5/15?

Could this actually strengthen our negotiating position with Orlando, by the way?

We can say to them "We have a great young team. We have a fantastic young point guard and one of the best young defensive centers in the league. We have depth at every position. We don't NEED Dwight, but it would be great to have him."

In other words, more leverage for us because our whole team is filled out.

Haha, sorry. Just excited--this offseason has been one wild rollercoaster, hasn't it?

Even if we don't get Dwight (assuming we DO get Lin), this will be a fun team to watch. Very young, lots of upside.

Looks like Linsanity is Houston bound. Morey did it.
