I don't really think Orlando or the Rockets are in a hurry to do anything. I think they're both content to just sit back and hope the other will grow impatient and finally cave in to the others demands. The start of the regular season is a long way off.

I've read that the RFA situations with Lin and Asik have to play out first. Then, the trade for Howard would happen.

    Any sense in this, Bima?

At the moment, it seems apparent that we are waiting for Lin and Asik to work out.

I think this is true. I would just hate for something to happen in the next 6 days to screw this up.

    He's not Bill Ingram.

I find it funny how Kennedy is a reliable source until someone doesn't like what he says.

Yep, we have the best offer that they're looking for, so either way it works for us. They give us Dwight good, they don't, we do our own thing.

There is only one reliable source in the national media.

I like your trade and roster scenario with a few minor tweaks. I think Houston will have to take on TWO bad contracts to finalize the deal for Howard. And if both Asik and Lin are not matched, I don't think Lee is re-signed even with the acquisition of Howard. Brooks may be the FA that is signed as a back up to Lin and a good complement to White if he is played as a point forward.

And Orlando is going to want the non-guaranteed contracts for either the young talent or to package in future trades.

Forbes and Leuer are likely retained. Like Motiejunas, Leuer is a stretch big who the Rockets seemed to like. Leuer also has position flexibility to play some minutes at the 5 due to his length and grit.

And finally, Rockets may make another big move in acquiring Josh Smith in exchange for a package of Jones, Dallas 1st rounder, Richardson and cash considerations.

Not that it bothers me greatly, but I noticed you started Forbes in the starting 5 at SG? (Unless he would act as our Thabo Sefalosha?) I would think Richardson would start (even perhaps Lamb, if he tears it up in the Summer League).

I can honestly say I've never considered Kennedy a reliable source, no matter what he's saying.

Sounds like someone is backpedaling on his assurance that this was a done deal.

Also told Rockets, even if they unexpectedly land Lin AND Omer Asik, still think they've got Dwight trade offers (yes, plural) to please ORL

As for #Rockets/#Magic deal, it can be pulled off to land DH even with Lin/Asik, but it wouldn't be homer deal I've heard would lock it up.
