Gotta read up on your facts bro. We won't have to overpay anyone, the new CBA has a loophole that allows the salary to be averaged out over the length of the contract. Rather than paying Lin and Asik 5-5-15, we'll be paying them 8-8-8 and so won't incur any lux tax hits.

As of right now I'm in the Aisk and Lin bandwagon and off the DH gravy train. Seriously, DMO is looking like an offensive powerhouse, we need Defense and Rebounding to complement him, not someone like DH would bring his diva attitude and destroy the team from inside.

This is one of the reasons why I wouldnt be mad if we dont get D12 cause if you get Asik and you have D-Mo I think you have great size right there and Lamb lighting it up ..

If I had to choose between rental Howard+permanent Hedo or Lin and Asik, Im taking Lin and Asik all day any day.

I know about the loophole bro but the fact is we are now going to pay him max salary in the final year. One of the reasons behind not giving Goran the player option was that it hurts the team in that final year. SO how does overpaying Lin 15 mill in the final season not us either? It went up 6 mil in this new offer.

Why not Goran and Asik instead of Lin and Asik? Oh well what do I know.

You actually don't seem to understand the loophole. The Rockets will not be paying him the max salary in the final year. For the Rockets the salary is balanced at approx 8 million every year. It only works that way (max salary final year) for the Knicks.

You're trying to argue with someone who by far would choose Asik and Lin over a chance of getting the best center in the league.

If you know about the loophole then you should also know that we aren't paying him the max the final year, as I already said his contract will be averaged out over three years. The Rockets will be paying him 5,5, 15 in real money only, as far the as the cap is concerned the payment is still around 8/8/8. Same thing with Asik, there won't be year we'll be paying 15M to just one of them.

Also nobody knows what DM is trying to do. Maybe he's going for CP3 and this is just a decoy to get NY out of the picture when CP3 becomes a FA. Or maybe he's fine either way, we can get CP3 next year if we strike out this year or we could get Dragic replacement in Lin if we NY doesn't match.

If it were "permanent Howard" we would have DWill and Howard by now

I'm wondering if DM will jack up the money to Asik like he did with Lin to prevent the Bulls from matching?

I'm not sure the Bulls will match. They already have 9M committed to Noah, will they really spend luxury tax just to keep a backup in the fold? My personal view is that we will get Asik and lose out on Lin. Hopefully we get both and put an end to the Dwightmare, that dude ain't worth all this drama+lamb+dmo.

Waiting on the Lin offer sheet, which was signed or delivered today(because Knicks were playing pee-pee games). They have 3 days to match or decline(Tuesday I believe). After that, Rockets will do the same to Chicago and again, they'll have 3 days to match. So you're probably looking at an Asik offer sheet Wednesday or Thursday and then 3 days after that for a decision.

I am sure it won't take the bulls 3 whole days to decide, like that of the Knicks...
