McHale to Morphisms. Future Stockton to Malone? I hope they grow old together.

Tim duncan isn't exactly throwing his weight around like Shaq. You can be effective at 7 feet if you're skilled and decisive. I agree that Dmo's moves shouldn't wow us, but he showed versatility, skill, and quick thinking. Considering most big men today are one-dimensional, lacking fundamentals, and waste time thinking about what moves to make, there's reason to be impressed by Donatas.

Look guys...Im just as pumped about Motie as anyone else here. One thing I noticed is that when he got bumped, he'd lose a lot of his stability (and he even fell down a few times).

When the regular season starts...when he starts playing against bigger players...when he starts playing against NBA veterans...when he starts playing against players that will try to be physical with him...that's when we'll know what his capabilities are. Right now, he's just going against rookies that arent focused on him at all, so his scoring opportunities are much, much different.

Its a great start for the kid...but he's got a long way to go before we call him an "all-star". He'll definitely be a good player though, at the least.

I know right? No center has ever come into the league skinny, soft, with a good shooting touch and succeeded.

To be fair his put backs and that hook shot was with his right hand. I thought those were soft shots too till I realized he was left handed.

Funny thing is, DMo's game perfectly complements Howard's.

He's got range, great understanding of spacing, and is very skilled on the block.

Skill is more important than strength at 21. Bosh, Gasol, and Notwitzki weren't strong big men, but their skills made them a tough cover for bigger guys. And with years in the weight room, they all ended up being pretty strong anyway. I'm not saying DMo has their talent, just that strength is not a huge concern in his rookie year.

Very impressive. However its only one game and it is prudent to wait a while before claiming him to be an all star. The guy is only 21 so he has plenty of upside and he will improve his shot. Go back and watch his interview with clutch he said that extending his arm more is one of the things he has been working on. He wont shoot 11-13 every game , but to expect him to do so is wrong. At this point the only thing you can look for in a player is his skill set and that is definitely there.

DMo will add muscle/weight over the next few years and get more comfortable playing with he best of the best. He's already very polished for a player his age, and showed some great fundamentals. Also, even though he's a bit cocky, i think he comes across pretty mature. A lot of hope/potential for him, as well as Lamb and Jones. White didn't have a great game, but I think he was nervous and rushed his shots. He obviously has good court vision and passing skills. Once he calms down and grows his confidence, I think he's gonna be fine too. It's early, but I'm more excited than I've been since Yao went down. Please don't give all these guys away for a 1yr rental, especially when we arent going to be serious contenders anyway. If rebuilding is the likely plan, then we're in a great position to start now.

Core strength can easily be improved, but the innate abilities he shows can't.

I would love to see Dream come and work with this kid. He is the one of the more athletic 7 footers to come out in a while. Dream could really help him. Morey better not even think about trading him for lame back Howard.
