I want him but not at any price. Who has ever been worth five brand new or future first-round picks? Not Kareem. Not Wilt. Hoping these trade rumor specifics are wildly exaggerated.
We just amnestied Scola, there is no turning back. We just have to make sure not to give away too much to get him, since he may only stay a year.
Remember, we can S&T Dwight to another team so maybe for Bynum or draft picks? Also, the louder Dwight says he won't resign with Houston (whether it is true or not) his price goes down because one must assume that it is for a one year rental. This is actually a GOOD Thing. It drives the price DOWN, and, despite everything Dwight is saying, it will be REALLY hard to leave all of that money on the table. Not to mention once he plays here, he might like the city, his teammates (Lee etc) and Morey can try to attract other superstars that will want to play in Houston. Also, if Houston can reengage the Chinese base, then there is a case to be made for Global Endorsements worth just as much as a NY/LA endoresement deal.
No way Orlando accepts your terms. Somewhere between that and the ESPN attrocious proposal for a possible rental.
Yeah we want Howard. K-Mart, 2 Rookies, 2-3 Draft picks and we take Hedo. I honestly think that should suffice. If Orlando doesnt want it, then we can rebuild without him
sure! I enjoy measured debate and fun discussions over name-calling and childishness any day...we don't have to all agree with one another but respect should always be mutual (unless you are a troll!!!)
I don't really believe in the conspiracy against Houston theory.... Them dudes are just busy bodies that want to seem important. "I spoke to...." "I texted with...." BLAH! I do think that obviously Stephen A. thinks NY is the mecca of the universe and every star should play there. His bias is well known! But he doesn't spew nearly as much houston hate as does Charles and Kenny...and they played for the Rox. lol
Thanks for the report. The bold part is what I have huge concerns. What kind of rental is this going to be? One that Howard plays a significant portion of the season or one that he barely plays because he is still rehabbing from his back surgery? The latter one would be a nightmare for us, if we are giving up a lot and taking a lot of their garbage, especially if he does not sign a long extension with us.
I beg to differ .... Teams with that quality players on them are picking very late .... making those picks virtually worthless. I'd give up a handful of mid 20's first rounders for MJ , Akeem , Kobe , Wilt , Lebron , Duncan , Shaq and a few others in their primes.
