That's true, I remember him making a big fuss in the media in the 1996 offseason, how he wanted a one-year contract worth about that much for the 96-97 season. And after THAT season ended, he got ANOTHER. (Of course, many GMs will tell you he's worth every penny--and it's hard to argue with that!) Now, Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player who ever lived...but man, we forget just how much he loves money.

Yup... with earlier reports with the Rockets giving away pretty much every single asset for all of Orlando's garbage was too far fetched. Morey has never made a trade that has screwed this franchie over. I can see him taking on 2 crap contracts and giving away Martin (has to be included for salary reasons) and either 2 assets and 1-1st round and 1-2nd round, or all the draft picks and 1 asset

If I had to put percentages on it, personally I'd say 75/80% he will be traded to us next week... 20/25% he won't be traded to us next week.
Some of both. There will be a compromise reached sooner or later unless some other team swoops in. Key points will be when Lin/Asik are matched and the Rockets actually have the ability to take back more than one small bad contract.
Highly depends on this summer league in my opinion. If our rookies continue to play well like in their first game, not only do we have decreasing incentives to trade for Dwight, but we get increasing leverage over the trade as our rookies are now valued higher. On the other hand if all our rookies begin to suck and continue to do so, then Orlando has the leverage over us. From the way things look now, it's great news for us. If our rookies keep this up, Orlando will be the ones caving in. The longer they wait the higher the price of our first round picks.
