    Rockets fans before: NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

    Rockets fans now: YYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

By this time tomorrow there will be another article written that will have half of clutchfans panicking again. Sometimes I think this forum must be full of women. The way people react to these articles that are purely speculation is comical.

I see the situation as a win-win for Rockets fans. If we trade for Howard it would be awesome because we would have the star we have been searching for (and much faster than I expected). If we don't trade for Howard we will get the opportunity to develop the young guys we currently have and try to tap into the boundless potential this group has.

I agree, and I hope your scenario wins the day. I just think to do the deal, the Majic want Florida Parsons instead of T-Jones. I think Morey would pull the trigger on that to get the #1 Center. Not sure when D-Motie can be traded after him signing his contract and all, but I'm sure they want him too.

and everyone was making fun of Morey for taking the best players available over need. What was everyone saying? He was infatuated with 6'7" - 6'9" power forwards? A collector of some sort.

On the two reports, one has everything the Magic want/want to get rid of and the other has what is still the best offer available for Howard.

Post #185... Someone clearly saw that quote (from whoever wrote it) and used it before they replied... Went as far back as page 6 but couldn't find it.

No, I do not hope he goes to LA... I've been flaming LA and ESPN and Ping... Why would I want him to go there? I ain't mad. I'm just saying.

There is no way the reported deal from Aldridge gets Dwight. However, I don't think Orlando is going to raid our roster, and get picks, and get cap relief.

IMO, to acquire a top 5 talent like Dwight. It will take.

Jones or Lamb. Can't have them both. Pick one Orlando. Royce White, 2 First round picks, 2 2nd round picks, 2 bad contracts and Martin.

    So the tally would be

Jones/Lamb, Royce White, Martin 2 first round picks, 2 2nd round picks going to Orlando

We receive Howard and pick 2 from Duhon, Richardson, Big Baby, Turk

I would NOT trade Parsons if at all possible. If that means they choose Jones and White and we keep Lamb so be it.

But make no mistake about it. Morey didn't just waive Scola if he knew he would only have to take on 1 bad contract.

I think Morey will GLADLY take on two bad contracts. But I believe he wants Orlando to think it's their idea. White/Jones/Lamb pick one and 2 bad contracts. It's a game of chess. Let's see whose smarter.

I don't think any reasonable fan questioned the talent of the 3 draft picks. Just that we didn't draft the need at Center. Well, if Morey had his sights set on Howard and Asik, that explains why he drafted for BPA. I actually like T-Jones, and think he has great upside and would complement Howard's game.

I've thought all along the Lakers were going to offer Bynum, and was surprised they wanted a commitment from Dwight before doing so. I seriously doubt the guy is going to walk away from LA after playing there for a year. And Bynum won't leave Orlando. Unless that dude is raking in serious endorsement cash, there is no way he leaves tens of millions on the table, not even for a chance to play in New Yawk.

I think 2 of the 3 rooks is right and add Patterson or Morris and we have a deal :)

Pay no attention to Pingalore. The guy is consistently all over the place to the point that Magic fans constantly make fun of him.

Case in point Pingalore and his "sources" were responsible for this beauty back on July 6th which basically said Howard was fixing to be traded but we can't tell you to who and then went on to sorta insinuate it was the Lakers. LOL!:

Thats a freaking steal. No way we are giving up our 3 first round draft pick plus future picks. Take martin because doesn't look like he's producing no more. Morey just call this dwight saga off. After all these nonsense i'd rather see our draft pick grow.

The question is ...is Howard on Durants level-one exciting to watch-one is unorthodox to watch, but Beast mode...if we were doing this trade and you haters of Morey look at it that way...then what guys both have been to finals

They have plenty of PF (just drafted 2 they like) and Morris is a project at the 3 (bust) or another PF they don't need. So thats why they would want Florida native Parsons and/or D-Motie with the 2 rookies and Martin's expiring, plus lesser filler if needed..

I don't care what the "market" price is, if I'm DM I'm not gonna trade away any player with potential for 1 year rental Howard.

Those of you guys talking about DH blinking don't get it, Jordan played almost all of his career making just 7M a year. Yet he turned out as one of the richest players ever. Why is that? Because his low salary enabled Chicago to put out a power team and Nike leveraged all his wins into massive sales.

Winning sells. Massive markets sell. Sure if you're LBJ or KD you can make a ton playing in a small city, but big guys are far less marketable than MJ-clone wannabees. LBJ, Kobe, KD et al can sell shoes and other equipment because people can pretend they're those guys when playing streetball, you're like Nash on the break or Kobe with the jumper etc. But the only guys who can pretend they're SHaq or TD or Hakeem or Dirk are people who actually play big, and that's not a lot. Plus, a lot of the stuff TD and co. are either dunks (which not many people can do) or complicated stuff like dream shakes and advanced post moves, again stuff people don't usually do. So for guys like DH, they will make more money if they go to NYC and start endorsing as many products as possible rather than staying in Houston and modeling for Papa's chicken or something.

There was an article that said DH could get as much as 50$M in endorsement deals if he goes to Brooklyn and forms the NBA Soviet Union, I think him walking away and playing for Brooklyn at say 10M a year is a real possibility.

Disagree. Parsons is a swingan while Jones is a forward. Both can play the same role but are versatile players who can adjust their games. Having both on the floor will make it harder for opposing coaches to draw up the mismatches. If Parsons can defend PGs and Jones Cs that'd be even more of a wet dream for coach Sampson.

Uhhh...do you think Jordan was making 7 million while all his competitors were making 15 million?

Up until 1996, Hakeem averaged 3 million a year over his first 9 seasons.

It was a different time then and Jordan was the highest paid. Dwight wont accept getting paid lower than the best.

I totally agree with your point. This is just in context of getting Howard. If Parsons is part of a reasonable mix of players, you don't let Parsons get in the way of pulling the trigger, because he can be replaced much easier than finding another beastly Center.
