Chandler Parsons is expendable. Terrence Jones can play the 3. He can handle the ball a bit, is quick enough, can shoot a bit from the outside (not much worse than Parsons), hustles, can rebound, and play defense on oversized 3's. I wouldn't be surprised if Morey drafted Jones to defend the LeBron's and Melo's of the world and replace Parsons.
Two things are obvious: 1) Dwight hates the Magic. 2) He wants to get as much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ as possible. He's already blinked once. He did not want to be traded to Houston because he fears it's going to be the same thing as the Magic where he will be the only star player and he can't compete with the super teams. Wherever he ends up he's going to sign an extension for the full amount (unless it's the Bobcats, Magic or some other really crappy team). As for the shoe deal, now that the Nets are not an option, and it's impossible for him to end up in NY he pretty much wants to be the #1 guy (in LA) on the Clippers. Too bad they would not trade anyone for him. It would hurt his name if he publicly says he is willing to sign an extension with them and they still say they won't trade Griffin or Paul for Dwight Howard. I get the feeling he is just waiting until he is traded now and he will not come up with a new team. He does not want the team he gets traded to to give up a lot of talent to acquire him.
Sterned. From the article, but really this sounds like what someone wants to happen not what necessarily will.
I wouldn't put much stock into that article by Ping (David Pingelore), he is wrong more often than not.
This is pretty much spot on. Ping is a joke. He "reported" that Dwight was going to sign an extension with Orlando a year ago, lol.
I concur. I think Jones has higher upside than Parsons. I know the Majic want Parsons and Lamb and probably Motie to do this deal. I would do that and start T-Jones with Howard, and whoever else wins the other spots. T-Jones and Howard would be the makings of a great defense
It is where the league wants him to end up if it couldn't be the Brooklyn Nets, this according to people with direct knowledge of the situation. The Lakers huh? Of course... ESPN has a location in LA! What a coincidence! ESPN (BSPN) is truly fearing that if Howard goes to the Rockets, we'll actually maybe get a "super team" of our own! What's wrong with that? And probably they want Howard to go to LA because that will produce even MORE $$$ for them! HUH... Greedy little punks. On a side note: AND if NOT LA, go to Dallas! Why? Because there's an espn.com/dallas website writers that would want to write all about the Howard trade! Why no love for Houston, ESPN, national media? Did Daryl Morey make fun of all of you guys and still have a grudge against him because of it? Highly doubtful. I'd really like to know why no love for the Rockets organization around the NBA... and why they wouldn't want us to get better?
-The Bucher report had the Rockets giving up far too much -The Aldridge report has the Rockets giving up a very little Captain Logic says..... Its probably going to be somewhere right in the middle of the two. Shuffle the players however you want to, but its just going to come down to the preference of players the Magic want out of the deal. The players you like the most are probably the ones they like as well. Also look for Morey to try to use as many of the contracts of the non-guaranteed guys they just aquired in the recent days such as Livingston, Harrellson, Brockman, etc. to keep as many prospects out of the deal as possible.
They dont want the Rockets to build a team with stars and cause then they gonna have to start talking about them and you know if it aint about the Knicks,Nets,Boston,Lakers they dont wanna talk about it
Yeah, I know. I like the potential for D-Motie "The Wolf" too. But to get the best center in the NBA, you gotta give that up. Looking at the Majic roster they have plenty of PF, but they may want D-Motie as a C/PF to mix with Big Baby. And I know they would need an upgrade at SG and SF, so thats why I figure they want D-Mo, Lamb, Parsons, plus the picks. Just makes sense. They deserve some value for Howard.
I agree with that in a vaccuum but the reality is, there are no other teams making any serious offers for a 1-year Dwight rental. All the "attractive" cities and top teams (LAL, Miami, Boston, Thunder etc) don't have the collection of cap space, picks, assets, etc to make a deal. The Rockets have more leverage. There is NO point in outbidding ourselves because Dwight is an elite player. The market dictates the price. The Nets set the stage with their crap package. If Houston is willing to take back 2 bad contracts, give up 2 1st picks, Martin, and maybe 2 of Patterson/Morris/Lamb/White/Jones thats a pretty good deal and no one else is offering that. THe longer Orlando waits, the worse the offers become.
I agree with you totally. But ESPN should be embarrassed that they are soooo all over the map on their reports of the situation. It's ridiculous! Their "insider info" is worthless.
I think you should calm down and take a Xanax...you're paranoid, and possibly having a panic attack bc you've been fappping to BSPN and all their propaganda
Just like I said in other threads: Morey is too smart to NOT know exactly what it's going to take to get Howard. He won't take back too many bad contracts OR give up too many promising youngsters or key draft picks. Everyone just needs to chill and wait for the final outcome, but I guarantee it won't be the armageddon that everyone was fearing.
I didn't say that... I am just quoting someone else. I was just quoting that, italic and bolding that because I was too lazy to find the person who wrote that from whoever they heard it from? That's not coming personally from me... and of course, I don't believe that ****!
Does anybody else notice that Pingalore's stuff reads like a blog written on livejournal?? There is no way this guy has ANY inside sources....he's a freaking Magic fan writing as if he's got contacts. HE'S A HACK.
