We're not surprised. We are glad to hear they are upset. We all knew they were licking their lips to match the first offer.

Bro, they said they'd match up to a billion dollars! We should at least offer $990,000,000 just to psyche 'em out.

The smiley thing is supposed to go AFTER the word, not in the middle of it.

Man, if we got Lin and Dwight both, that would be a dream scenario for me. I don't see it happening though. New York will match--they'll be pissed off about it, but they'll match.

Lulz if NY matches (lulz on us if we're paying a 3rd tier PG 15mil) - Morey would have stuck it to them AGAIN. Right when they thought we were friends too. Man. Morey is one mean SoB.

Dragic got a 4 year deal with a player option from the Suns, Morey was unwilling to give that. Lin is only a 3 year deal.

the player option was the problem. rockets wouldn't give those unless they're a ceritifed superstar

Yes, l'm aware of that. It was rhetorical.

Anyhow, we don't know the ceiling on a 3 year deal when they negotiated with Dragic. All that's been reported was Lin's first offer from the Rockets was the same $/yr to Dragic's offer.

To me this NY article suggests this last minute Rockets' offer is an attempt that goes beyond what they were comfortable with.

Wow, the new deal is a bitter pill for the knicks to swallow. Nobody thinks Lin is worth $14 mil per season. That's crazy money. Is morey out to get the Knicks or does he seriously think Lin is worth $14mil per year?

The contract will only hit the Rox cap for about 8mil per season.

So the question is not 'Is Lin worth 14 mil?' the question is, 'Is Lin worth 8 mil?'

    Yes.
