Call me crazy, but I much rather keep our young talent and let them grow.. than make a deal for Howard, Lamb, Parson, Jones is something to build with.. and then there's Llull possibly comeing over next year! Sign Bynum and Walla Llull Lamb Parson D-Mo Bynum
Tremendously helps our ability to trade...reason...no other trade partners for ORL that has value...and everytime the Rockets kids do well...their stock collectively goes up...less things that need to be packaged..and less likely to get back a bad contract...if the rookies play well..expect the Rockets to really come back as winners...ORL a major opportunity on draft day!
I was a little disappointed in White. He passed well, but his ability to jump up and get a rebound or get a shot off seems like a major problem. I also did not like how much he complained on the court. Terrence Jones looked awesome. Very impressed. Very. The guy looks like he can play the three or the four and really left everything on the court -- diving on the court, rebounding, running in the fast break. Donatus -- what can I say, he looked really good. I was surprised.
D-Mo, Lamb and Parsons really did looked good, but we kinda knew that already. Well, I did, anyway. I like what I saw from Terrence Jones. I didn't get to watch him too much last year, but I wasn't impressed by him during his freshman year at all. He had terrible body language, didn't always play hard and made some bone-headed plays. Today, he was active, engaged and played smart. I like it. Still, I'd throw him in a Howard trade without hesitation. White looked sorta lost. Way too hesitant. Will need to get more assertive. I believe he'll look better once you run some actual sets through him and play a more conventional lineup. Fortson was horrible, but that's hardly news. He was awful last year when given a chance. The problem with Machado was that he was always looking to pass and didn't turn the corner on his pick&rolls. Also kept picking up his dribble way too early/much. I actually thought Morris looked OK. Took a few bad shots, but he played hard. Played pretty decent D too. Will need to get more assertive as far as posting up and demanding the ball goes.
My thoughts.... 1. D-MO was great. I think he was a bit jumpy on the freebies. But awesome showing. 2. All the draft picks looked good. 3. Morris seemed to settle in and looked better as the game went. 4. Terrence Jones is going to be awesome. 5. Lamb played well, but Terrence Ross put on a bigger show. 6. Is The Mad Chicken on steroids?
All the NBA-ish guys that saw that and know Howard will probably call him and tell him, he wants to play with Montiejunas.
Whats the worst that can happen playing our young guys all season, having the worst record in the NBA, and ending up with Noel or Zeller. Also giving these guys a year of NBA expiernce
He looked better as the game went on .. Remember this is a huge jump in talent level for him.He looks like he could develop into a decent backup ..someone that can come in and not hurt you .. Fortson on the other hand is garbage and looks hopeless.
Sounds like a nice young nucleus. I know we aren't getting Lin and Asik, but if we did, It would be something you could build on.
Which one was a bigger fail? Two minutes into the first summer league game.. Or, after creating a thread and posting a YouTube video of Terrence Jones from HIGH SCHOOL.. I'm going with RedRedemption's fail.
Unfortunately, if they keep this up, I think the Magic GM will budge and accept our rookies and as desperate as Morey is, he will agree to anything. This is just great for Morey, but bad news for us. People say it's just summer league and all that but even Webber said the Rockets are passing well and was impressed with D-Mo. Also we really played hard, played defense and most of the time under control. They showed maturity which is good.
D MO is one of the fastest 7 footers i have seen run diown a court in a looonnnggg time. But, he also didnt run his fastest going back on defence, mostly towards the offensive end. on another note, DMO Lamb and Jones all did well. Machado did better than Fortson and Moris picked it up in the end
Guys just relax, go to sleep, wake up tomorrow and I bet you will see something about Rockets in the main NBA page.
Lamb outplayed Ross look at Ross's numbers, he just shotjacked. And he rarely if ever scored on Lamb when Lamb was guarding him. He scored on Parsons a few times, had some wideopen 3's because of Fortsons, and Machado terrible defense switches, and a fastbreak dunk. Ross basically shotjacked Lamb will be the better pro
Ross did not outplay Lamb Ross just had free reign and shotjacked Lamb scored within the Offense, and he scored on Ross a few times, Ross did not score on Lamb Lamb's Defense really impressed me
