This is the whole purpose of the new CBA. The Knicks are trying to outspend everyone. Morey isn't doing this to hurt the Knicks....he is trying to get Lin.

Why would agents not like him?? Their clients are the benefactors here. Now, the other GMs...that's a different story. But, I'm pretty sure nobody in the NBA has any sympathy for the Knicks. And the Bulls are NOTORIOUS cheapskates....it's about time somebody put them to the test.

Because the way he handles players as assets also he often killed a lot of RCA leverage. Those were something's he did recently

Who cares if we sign Lin or Dragic? They are basically the same. We are not contenders for any real stars anyway. Even if we get DHo, he is coming off an injury and will bolt first chance he gets. Bynum is injury prone as well and his head isnt quite screwed on right. No use in getting worked up about any of these moves b/c we are doomed to mediocrity.

I really, would've rather had Dragic, honestly. Dragic did it longer and isn't coming off an injury. Lin just had more hype.

I am not sure why some of you are surprised to hear Knicks management are "unhappy".

Ummmm....because then the Knicks would NOT match, and we'd be stuck with that contract.

One good side effect of all this is that the Rockets are making headlines and are back in the national spotlight. In a perception is reality league such as the NBA is, this is a good thing. Why not drag it out? Do Lin for three days, then do Asik. When they're both through, pull the trigger on Dwight. By the end of it all, even Ric Bucher will admit that we've made a comeback in the standings of public opinion. Again, in the NBA, perception equals reality. If people think we are a big name team, suddenly we will be a more desirable destination than places like OKC, Dallas, and San Antonio. Players might say, "look at that front office, you can't say they won't do everything and leave any stone unturned."

Morey knew NY would match. This move was made primarily so his fanboys can say "it's not Morey's fault NY matched Lin". This will be his scapegoat going into the season
