Scola was a classy player and he will be missed. There was also NO chance that he was on any possible future with this team. He was the last holdover from the Yao/Tmac era. Time to move on.

Maybe half will end up as solid roleplayers. We're giving them and some garbage draft picks up for a solid chance at landing a top 5 player who is just entering his prime.

You give Morey crap for two years saying he "can't get it done" and "can't land a superstar" and then give him crap when he starts the tanking process by gutting Team Mediocrity for young talent and draft picks then give him crap when he trades for the biggest superstar prize currently in the NBA. It takes a crazy amount of luck to land a star player via draft. Even if you do land a star player via draft it will probably be 4 years before his impact means a damn thing and you can put a decent team around him. And that takes a ton MORE luck. OKC isn't the standard. The Cavs and Bobcats are the standard. Maybe you want to play ping pong with the glut of perennial loser franchises in the NBA but I sure as hell don't.

 

We need to go for the Orlando Magic style of forum where every single thing is in one massive offseason topic. That way people can sift through one 600 page topic reading a ton of stuff they don't care about instead of sifting through three 80 page topics full of stuff they don't care about. We're only halfway towards the goal of optimally bad forum design.
