It's going to be three guys that are left on our squad from last year, and then a combination of draft picks and draftees. The original BSPN report had us sending all our picks, all our draftees, and our players for DH and bad contracts.

That's simply not true. I imagine they send a ton of draft picks, one of our draftees, Parsons, Kmart and cash considerations for DH and a bad contract. That seems fair to me.

 

I don't have a problem with Doc Rockets' post. Most of them are fun, and entertaining to decipher. I do have a problem if he's pretending to be an insider, because he's not.

That's nice to hear. I know it may seem like a pipe dream, but if we kept Lamb, Royce, Donuts, and Parsons, I would be fine with whatever else happened.

Yes. I would assume it would be a mix match. Dont forget about all of these guys-


Harrellson, Leuer, Jordan, Fortson, Simpson, Smith, Brockman, Livingston, and I know Im forgeting someone else too.

Some of those guys will be throw ins to the deal as well. I expect it will be

-Toronto Pick
-Dallas Pick
-Lamb, Jones
-Kevin Martin
-Harrellson, Livingston, Brockman, Simpson
+ taking on 2 bad contracts in Richardson & Duhon

That is just about right IMO based on the deal that the Nets proposed, and the upside to this deal that now meets all their retuirements.

-Lamb will needed to be sold to Orlando as an up and coming rookie with star upside. He must go.
-Martin must go for salary purposes.
-2 first round picks. Hopefully no more.
-Non guaranteed salary throw ins
-Salary cap relief. Not sure if the Rockets also take Big Baby Davis as well. Im on the fence with that one. Hopefully no.

This deal looks about right based on those assumptions.

Here's why I don't understand the worries. They seem to be based on two ideas. Either:

1) Look at all this we're giving away! It's too much.

or

2) We look desperate! It's too weak.

In both cases, how do we have any clue that's the case? We're really supposed to assume we're giving away our young guys, draftees, and picks and taking on all 4 bad contracts? It's one thing to consider that a possibility; it's another to assume it's the truth. That's especially so considering the only evidence we have that was considered is a poor ESPN report that has since been corrected.

And how do we know if we look weak? For all we know, DM is has Hennigan's nuts in a vice and is twisting trying to keep one more rookie. Sure, we look a little foolish by the crappy ESPN coverage, but that's gonna happen regardless...we're not one of their coastal lapdogs like LA, NY, or MIA.

So, basically, I see reason to be somewhat skeptical, and even to have a small amount of worry. To lament this as absolutely terrible based on a slew of assumptions and junk seems...exorbitant.

But hey, I'm new. What the hell do I know?

 

I think Lamb and Royce will be included in any trade with the magic. they need a guy that has potential to be an Allstar in return for DH, in my opinion.
