Lol, I dont understand why Magic would want to take more time to think. We have the best package. If I were Magic, I would get this deal done right away.

I think it's likely the Magic are waiting on us to sort out all of our cap issues with the offer sheets and Scola's amnesty.

Don't worry, I am sure Hennigan is thinking about Morey's package right now! ;)

I literally just laughed out loud at work. Good thing I have an office and not a cubicle or else I would have some awkward explanations to give out.

Where's he going to go if we say no?

Exactly. Bulls and Knicks have till tomorrow to match the offer sheets and if they do then that opens all the doors that need to be for a deal to go down.

    Not happening.

The real worst case is that Dwight signs outright with Dallas. Remember, it will make no difference to him if he signs outright or is S&T - if it is with a new team, the contract will be the same ($30M left on the table).

If we did go S&T next summer to facilitate him moving to a capped out team, it certainly would not be for the Nets dumpster diver sampler.

Part of the delay is also the Scola situation and Lin/Asik offer sheets. I know I'm impatient, but I wish we could get an explanation (other than "waiting for physicals", which we heard Wednesday) as to what's going on. The Camby trade was made official late Wednesday. What's the holdup now? Every day that passes without a deal is one more day that Dwight has to change the entire game with some new revelation (staying in Orlando, expanding his list, etc.). Let's get the 72-hour clock started. If the sheets had been handed out Wednesday, as most of us expected, it would be almost over!

If I am not mistaken, we can sign him to a max deal and trade him to any team even if they do not have cap space because they will have to pay the luxury tax at that point.

If he walks and tries to sign with any team that's when he will be leaving money on the table.

    Forced? By who?

You really think Morey would cripple the team with Brook Lopez on a max contract? What leads you to believe he'd sacrifice cap flexibility for that?

Is this exactly right? Maybe I need to go back and read the rules again. I understood it to mean that they have 3 days to match after the offer sheet is signed and we (the Rockets) have not signed them yet from what I have read.

Stack, neither offer sheet has even been signed yet.

When the sheets get to CHI and NY, *then* they have three days to match or not..

From my understanding Lin and Asik haven't signed their offer sheets.
