If he can stay healthy, less than 3 mil per is actually a pretty good deal for what he can bring in terms of rebounding and interior defense.
The problem is that Elton Brand did the same thing (better), but they amnestied him for nothing, so they're still paying Elton Brand despite that he only had a year left. Now, with amnestied Brand and Brown, they have cap space. But they're not using it, so they effectively swapped Brand and Louis Williams for Brown and unused capspace. Head scratcher, because they're going to roll into the season with a starting line up of Brown & Hawes (apparently moving to PF) up front. Which is troubling, because that crew is terrible.
He can still give you a triple-six off the bench: points, rebounds, fouls. That's fair for $3M per, with pressure on him to produce in year one. Kwame would have been a substantial upgrade over the likes of Joel Anthony in Miami. I don't get their obsession with bench 2s and 3s with such a pathetic collection of centers.
