Chandler Parsons isn't going to lead us anywhere, but he will sure as hell follow very effectively.

Of all the things we're trading, that one will hurt the most. He is a key rebuilding block, IMO.

I realize we all have some issues with the reporting done by some of the "journalists" during these trying times...but nothing they've said means less to me than anything out of anyone's mouth from within d/FW.

He wont walk away from 30 million if we promise to land him CP3 or Smith. That's all he really wants.

Because everyone is on their period. According to Adrian Wojo the Rockets would get Howard and have enough money to add a max free agent next year. No one else will be in position to offer that scenario to Howard.

I actually agree. Guys like Parsons are the type of players you need. Role players with low cost contracts.

This is the fear-based thinking that Rockets fans have conditioned themselves to believe for some reason.

This thread is seriously like reading a teeny bopper gossip thread announcing Justin Bieber may or may not have plummeted to his death.

So much overreacting to a fear of change without any knowledge of what is really going on.

This team is a vested interest that you choose to follow, Daryl Morey's livelihood as a human being right now depends on these decisions.

Who do you think is more qualified?

Too many fans in here upset at the lack of control.

    Truth.

I would rather take a swing and miss than continue to wallow in mediocrity.

Dwight leaves, we become one of the worst teams in the league and land ourselves probably a top 3 pick. I can live with that as a worst case scenario.

Who Ben and Skin????... Same guys who thought Roddy B would be the key to a Dwight trade LAST YEAR. Same guys who claimed Deron Williams will 100% be a Mav this year because he's from Dallas?

Mark Stein is the only person from ESPN and Dallas that actually has sourced info. Skin Wade is a friend of a friend, and have met hung out with him and his wife a few times. They dont know jack. They do however know Mark Stein, and if Stein knows something, WE know it as well. Nice guys, but they are full of it, and complete Homers.

Not sure why Dallas is so paranoid. They should be happy they finally won a title in 2011 - can't complain for 5 years.

The only thing that would make getting rid of Parsons tolerable is if we land Josh Smith next summer. Richardson or Turkeyglu will be a stopgap in the meantime.

Right... And that Aldridge tweet was in regards to signing an extension... Brooklyn was the only place he would lock into without becoming a free agent. Just because he won't extend somewhere doesn't mean he won't resign there after testing the market. I'm not arguing the "no way he leaves 30 mil on the table" angle, although it would be tough, I'm just pointing out that we do not know that DH12 has categorically rejected H-Town. We know Houston isn't his MOST preferred spot, and that's it.

In addition, why do those bad contracts doom us to mediocrity? Are the Kings doomed by having Chuck Hayes? Are the Bobcats doomed by having Tyrus Thomas? Were the Wolves doomed because of Darko, or the Cavaliers because they kept Jamison?

I actually think Dallas is the only threat if we acquire Dwight. It's very possible that we get stuck in a situation where if we can't get a player Dwight wants to come here (say Smith or Paul) that he will leave for Dallas to play with Dirk.

That to me is the only real threat. He's not going to sign for the exception with Brooklyn or LA. It is possible he leaves a little money on the table and goes to Dallas though.

I've been 100% behind this trade but that doesn't mean I want to make it sound like it is risk free.
