Did he file the grievance...... or did he do what he has done since day one, make idle threats behind the scenes?

Do you know that he wanted it sans the $30,000,000?

You do know that the Rockets will have MAX money under the salary cap after this season to add a player to go sign along with Howard?

Doesn't matter when it was originally posted, if you clip a section from an article to post here, you are supposed to also post a link to the article.

Its a longstanding rule here that obviously needs to be enforced more often.......some members are slacking

I'm not saying you should. I'm saying the Magic might. They are a confused bunch. I mean if they were planning on taking a max contract Brook Lopez, they might take Horford.

He also liked the $30M enough to not opt out and try to continue to force his way to Brooklyn. If he gets dealt to Houston he will have to decide if he likes ATL, DAL, CHA, or CLE $30M more than Houston.

Today he could say he prefers the be a Laker. I think the opportunity will exist for him to take $30M less to join the Lakers after joining the Rockets in a sign and trade for Bynum. If he says he will re-up with the Lakers now, I think he would get traded to LA and get his extra $30M from them.

This is true. I just have to believe they were never really interested in Brooklyn. The GM came out and said they were still talking, even after it was reported the Nets and Lopez had reached an agreement. I think it was pure posturing by him. He's desperate.

Dwight Howard isn't the only big man on the minds of the Los Angeles Lakers' front office staff these days.

One source familiar with the trade negotiations said Thursday that calls between the Houston Rockets and Lakers discussing a three-way trade have cooled, while the Atlanta Hawks appear to be gaining steam in their pursuit of Howard.

    -----------

Bucher reported Wednesday that the Atlanta Hawks continue to pursue Howard via trade, as well, but one source described Atlanta as "not the best option" for the Magic.

Bucher is reporting the Hawks as "not the best option"? Oh no, the Hawks must actually be making a serious play.

Force a trade to a team he wants to GO TO right?

He clearly doesn't want to be in Houston. And again, if Dwight Howard wouldnt walk away from the money? Why would Orlando trade him? Surely they could put up with the headache for one more year for such a transcending talent...right?...You know, since he'd be a lock to resign in Orlando..and give in...since he clearly wont walk away from 30 mill.

I called out OP for the misleaded title and he basicly said he didn't care. It's now too late to put the fire out.

Haha yeah. I was just pointing out I can't believe people are "quoting" old news. Don't mind the link being posted either.

Not correct at all. Why do you think he opted in on his deal last season? Could it be because the team that was aquiring him was going to play him out of his current contract? That team being the Houston Rockets. The opt in was clearly a ploy to give the Magic the summer to trade him so he could be traded and retain his bird rights.

Worked out best for Orlando too because they knew they would be able to get more for a year long Dwight rental than just a few weeks after the trade deadline last year.

Dwight will try to force a trade with Houston around Feb 1st if he does not want to sign long term here. That way it allows Houston to at least get rid of one bad contract maybe and get Brook Lopez in return or possibly get Bynum from LA.

He WILL NOT, under any cicumstances walk from Houston after next season to sign with Brooklyn, or either LA teams as a free agent. He would have to take the MLE. No way in hell that happens. The only possible suitor would be Dallas, and even then he would still be losing out on 30 mil over the life of the contract.

This is why Houston is confident he will extend with them, or they will at least be able to move him at the trade dealine for another major piece.

The difference is that he's fed up with the organization.

They wouldn't have money to go get another player. We will.

What if that player doesn't want to come here? It's to many risks being taken..The Heat formed their big 3 because they knew they would get them..Morey is being insane
