I just don't see any way that Morey would offer all of that, and take back those contracts. I realize we're gonna have to give up some players that we'd rather keep, but hell...not all of them. Doesn't make sense that Morey would go for this.

Perhaps. The Lakers could in theory take on a bad contract and give an expiring contract to the Magic (say McRoberts). If the Magic could get rid of one more expiring contract would that help keep us from having to give up as much? I don't know, but my thought was perhaps that would help.

Then the center position is in really bad shape. No reason to even discuss Lopez, he is not the kind of player you build around, he is the type of player you put around a player that you are building around. Lopez is nothing close to a superstar. If Daryl Morey gets D12 then there is zero chance he will trade D12 at the trade deadline unless it's for another superstar.

    BTW,

    D12
    Bynum
    Tyson Chandler
    DeMarcus Cusins
    Greg Monroe
    Jokim Noah
    Marc Gasol
    Al Jefferson
    Andrew Bogut (when healthy)

Are all better centers than Lopez. There will always be a high value placed on 7 footers that can score 20 pts and block shots (which explains his crazy ass max contract) but when you can't rebound or play defense your effectiveness is severely limited. There is a reason that a Brook Lopez led team always sucked real bad and could never sniff the play-offs in the lowly east.

This makes the old Pau Gasol deal look waaaaaaaay better. The one where Rockets were getting "ripped"

It's funny how so many people changed their minds in a day. I thought most were saying, it's DH best center in the leauge, you give up what ever they want for him. Now it seems like it is too much.

I still think he will be any injury prone cancer here whether he signs an extension or not. Meh, at least in this scenario we keep D-Mo and I can hope he turns into some kind of Pau/Dirk clone.

This report smells about as credible as the report that said the Magic were going to take the Nets' offer of Lopez, some other turd, and 4 late 1st rounders.

Has ESPN been right on this entire Howard fiasco? They had Howard going to the Nets, then the Lakers.... then they said Houston had 0% chance of getting Howard and now they are claiming "sources" are that Houston will make "X" offer.

Look........ Bucher and Stein have been wrong virtually at every turn and Chad Ford has no insider information outside of the Lakers....... Stein has sources in Dallas and Bucher in NJ...... none of these guys have sources in Houston or Orlando.

While I've been against the trade you all need to take you ladies need to check your hormones.

You had no problem trading Martin, Morris, Patterson, Lowry and whatever high pick we trying to trade up for in return for DH and contracts. Basically this is the same package + Parsons. Is that too much now to warrant the response?

    This is what you wanted.

Also, why would Morey need to UP his offer that much? Who are we really bidding against? NOBODY. Magic have to trade him no matter what. He doesnt want to play for them at all. And the only other team that has been mentioned and has a chance is Lakers. And they have NOTHING outside of Bynum(no picks/young talent) and wont be willing to take back more than 1 bad contract.

We really have no competition and I dont think Morey is stupid enough to give up all of our young players including Parsons. I hope he doesnt prove me wrong.

He is one of the worst in rebounding and playing defense.
