Dwight, Bynum, Bogut, Chandler, Both Gasols, Hibbert, man I'd put Cousins over Brook right now honestly.

Some aspects of courting a girl apply to business. For example, it's impossible to make someone love you.

Like I said earlier, if this deal goes through and Howard agrees to sign an extension based on the promise we can bring him CP3 or Smith next year, then I'm all for it.

I have said it before and I will say it again, let the Lakers take Howard and we can take Bynum. We would have to give up less, take on less bad contracts and get a guy who it sounds like actually wants to be here. Plus is efficiency rating isn't that far behind Howard.

I'd also take Pekovic and Noah.

I really don't want to make the same mistake the Knicks did to get Melo, by giving up every player they had with potential. But... to get a player of DH's stature, you HAVE to overpay.

"I'll trade you my team for your team!" WTF???

This is rediculous!!!!! I hope like heck that DM is not really this obtuse. Has Morey been staring at this luxury car that is Dwight Howard so long that he has fallen in love with it like a junior high boy on a high school cheerleader and is now willing to give up everything (literally) to get him.

So we get him here in Houston, and assuming that the end of the world does not happen with Dwight not wanting to resign here, what are we going to be as a team?

Hey Morey can you reach into your pockets and pull out a contending NBA basketball team?

    DM: Well lets see...right pocket...OH!!!...Looky here...I got a center....Dwight Howard!

    OK...what else you got?

DM: OK...left pocket...[vigorously digs into pocket]...I got this!!!
[Exposes the contents of his left pocket to be a Halls throat lozenge, 4
pennies, and a receipt from Chick-Fil-A]

This is what we will have to look forward to? Evidence of a fat chicken sandwich and nobody will get to taste it!!!

Yeah Noah as well, Pekovic i'll have to see more of him.

Brook is a center that can't rebound though, which is about as good as a point guard that can't dribble.

I call BS. The Magic were "close" to a deal with the Nets for a bunch of scrubs, and draft picks, yet we have to gut our entire roster, other than what we acquired from the Knicks/Bucks, + picks to acquire Howard? I don't think so, and if it's true, Rob Hennigan, and D-Ho can make nice in Orlando, cause we ain't interested!

Because Dwight really wouldn't have much of a choice unless he wanted to walk for the MLE to his teams he has vocalized interest for except for the Mavs.

Even in the case of the Mavs the Rockets could still offer 30 Mil more over the life of the deal.

So its about $, and the Rockets would have the upper hand in negotiations unless teams like the Nets, Lakers, Clippers, etc. somehow found a way to shed enough salary this season to take on a super max contract next summer AND convince Dwight to take less money over the life of the deal by losing his bird rights by walking from Houston.

Im not Larry Coon here or anything but keep in mind there is a new rule now that he could not be sign and traded at the end of the season due to rules in the new CBA known as the "Carmelo Anthony rule."

So in short if the Rockets trade for Howard then only three things can happen-

    Most likely to least likely-

-He resigns in Houston to take full advantage of the $
-He voices his displeasure with Houston, the front office abliges him, and he forces a trade out of Houston to LA or Brooklyn where the Rockets could get either Bynum or Brook Lopez at worst.
-worst case scenario, he walks to Dallas in the Summer and leaves 30 mil on the table to sign as a free agent.

We would not have to give up less. You logically would think we would, but in reality it would be the same price. The Lakers have nothing they can trade for Dwight except Bynum. They can't trade any draft picks and they have no prospects. Therefore, to satisfy the Orlando portion of the trade, the Rockets would still have to be the team that trades for Dwight. That means whatever package we are willing to give up for Dwight directly still has to go to them.

A three way trade between ORL-LA-HOU is basically Houston trading for Dwight and trading Dwight for Bynum.

HELLLLL NOOOOOO. with giving up entire team, Howard is not worth it. Already Amnesty Scola, giving up martin, 2pat, morris, parson and all 3 2012 draftees and then releasing all the non guarantee contracts then who we have left. HOWARD, RICHARDSON, DUHON, TURK. No Thank you.

Dwight, bynum, m.gasol, gortat, p.gasol, hibbert, monroe. There's 7. And it doesnt mean as much to be a top 5 center compared to the other positions. Hell lma is a better center than lopez and he's a power forward.

I'm not buying it. If Morey is offering that much, then Brooklyn was never even close to being in it. Rockets are the only team that could take back so much money and offer draft picks that actually have value in a addition to young talent to improve our roster. Orlando would go into next season with QRich on their payroll (assuming he picks up his option) and nothing else, and have 2 potential lottery picks.
