What makes you think the current roster is a 500 team? We lost our starting Pgs, Lee, our starting PF and our starting and backup center. As constructed the Rockets are a bottom 5 team in the league. Outside of Parsons and Martin, if McHale would even play him, who on this team has proven that he can contribute as an every day starter?

I really think that's secondary for now. A temporary, 1yr star is worth it because it's a double hit if the cable tv channel flops. It's lost revenue from broadcast rights, and the cost of floating the channel.

I would trade "7 projected rotation players" for a superstar anyday.

I do know what loyalty means, for the past 15 years we were never BAD so his loyalty on that front has never been tested. But when you quit on YOUR team because you disagree with a REPORTED trade YOUR managmentt is making(who your supposed to believe in by the way) even before anything real has happened shows all the disloyalty i need to see..feels like hes just waiting to jump on any excuse to quit on this team , and i dont give 2 ****s if hes been watching our rockets for 50 years that doesent fly..
Leave your rocket gear if you even have any and dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out

As much as this possible scenario disgusts me, i realized that now is the time to really put our faith in morey. In morey we trust!

I don't think they could fit the Asik and Lin deals under the cap unless Turkoglu were not included. Depending which three Magic players would be included, the Rockets would be looking at a current salary of around $43M (no Turk, best case) to $52M (no Duhon, worst case) before those offers.

The omission of Turkoglu would still allow Asik and Lin to accept the Rockets offer and still fit under the $58M cap. If either or both is matched, the the Rockets should still be under the cap by roughly that amount (around $8M each).

This is why Morey wants Dwight Howard: he measured 6'9" with no shoes at the draft combine: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Dwight-Howard-2888/.

He also played PF during his first 3 years in the league, next to centers Kelvin Cato, Tony Battie and Darko Milicic. He only really started playing C in 2007-8 when Orlando signed Rashard Lewis.

    Welcome 6'9" PF!

It's also why we want Josh Smith.

We should go for this starting 5:

    1. F Royce White
    2. F Chandler Parsons
    3. F Terrence Jones
    4. F Josh Smith
    5. F Dwight Howard

The only combination I could get to work was without Hedo.

*I used Sacremento to send Scola as representation of the amnesty.
*Dalembert represents the value of the rookie contracts.

That trade doesn't take into account the Scola amnesty. If you remove Marcus Morris and Patrick Patterson and use Scola to represent the Rockets amnesty for them and the value of the rookies, Morris and Patterson for the Magic, then the trade works. Again, this is without including Turkoglu.

What else did you think? Orlando is playing hard ball, Morey needs to be fired if he agrees to this.I don't want Howard at all.

If we are getting Dwight, the first 3 players on your starting 5 would be playing on the wrong team, unless somehow they all end up in Atlanta-lol.

If this trade goes through, it marks a new chapter for the Houston Rockets. I don't recall ever they dramatically change the roster in 1 season to the next. This is unchartered territory, I believe given the current trend of the NBA, this is the best solution to become a title contender, not a playoff contender. Seeing Parsons traded is just sad, he may be a player we regret letting go, but to become a player in the NBA, we have to take risk. Even if we don't get the trade done, the Rockets are now the talk besides Team USA which will make the Rockets relevant next off-season. We have the best organization in town, willing to do everything to become a chamption.
