[ESPN] Sources: New trade offer in works (for Dwight Howard)

If Morey has proven anything it is that he can find complimentary players to put around star players. I'm not worried about losing anybody on the Rockets roster. I love Scola and the potential of a lot of these young players, but retaining last year's team and adding more similarly talented role players is a recipe for terminal mediocrity.

 

Get the trade done already. empty out the roster. But Motie,Machado and Zoran better be borderline all stars in their rookie years, and Brooks has to regain his soul from Manu...no pressure.
If not, I can see the nba's biggest vj, taking a look at richardson, turk, and duhon then laughing to the next off season leaving behind 30 million on the table.

What's the point of getting a superstar player if you can't build a championship team around him...if you can't build a mediocre team around him?

The deal as reported will leave the Rockets with nothing valuable to trade (so no trading for say Josh Smith...) and no cap space left to acquire...say Josh Smith.

We'll have Howard, his buddies, and the other players we acquired through the smaller trades who mostly are bench warmers...and D-Mo.

That deal has NOT been reported. A bunch of people ASSUMED it was instead of actually reading. How many times does it have to be said?

All ESPN was talking about was salary cap math. And their "source" about salary cap math is wrong.

We are NOT giving up all that was supposedly "reported". I promise.

 

This is what's pissing me off. No one is in serious contention for Dwight right now, except MAYBE Atlanta. We should have way more leverage. Yet we have to absorb all these bad contracts and give away half our roster and ALL our young talent? How is that even remotely fair? I'm okay with doing one or the other, but NOT both. The Melo trade was nowhere this lopsided.

 

This is the type of foolery that frustrates me as Rocket fan. Rob them blind? Your gutting the whole team for a one year rental. Not only that but he doesn't like Houston and has publicly stated this through his agents. We don't have the coach or roster to compete right now, just imagine with Howard and basically nobody else. We will suck tremendously and will be watching him walk the year after. TERRIBLE MOVE.

Yes, but how long do we have to do this? Until the trade deadline, pretty much. Our time window would be dangerously short to find all the pieces after we give up most of our tradeable assets, and that's what I don't like.

 

I bet you said the same thing when we gave up Donte Greene.

 

I do get this but Morey can pull role players out of his butt we are not giving up anybody who has proven anything! We are getting the most dominate player in the world for (not very much) potential!

 

Just realized Donuts was not included in the trade speculation. I know he hasn't played but that would be great seeing him and D12 in the starting line up.
