[ESPN] Sources: New trade offer in works (for Dwight Howard)

If the Bulls DO match Asik we're looking at a package of all 3 rooks plus picks and martin and one or more of Parsons Patterson or Morris for Glenn Davis, Jason Richardson, and Chris Duhon... Line -up looks like this..

AB/Douglas/Duhon
Richardson/Douglas
Parsons or Morris/Richardson
Patterson and or D-Mo/ Brock
Dwight/ Jordan

If they dont match Asik we'll look like this

AB/Douglas,Duhon
J-Rich/Douglas
Forbes/J-Rich
D-Mo/ Davis
Dwight/ Asik

In either scenario we need Dwight to get close to Josh Smith and tell him to request a trade to Houston and let them take back some expiring contracts for next season and possibly Douglas and whatever the heck else we can give them.. Not much unless Asik is matched.. Then we could offer whatever young talent we dont give up to match the salaries to the magic..

 

It's not even the point.

The point is trading your entire team, plus the future of that team, for a possible one year rental for a player is incredibly risky.

It's like betting your entire house and life savings on a 50/50 chance to win 50k or something.

yeah but we rebuild with 3 bad contracts/mediocre players passed their prime and delay retooling our roster another year. I'd rather do that now than hand over the farm.

I think Morey has leverage...he should use it. Give up lots of assets/rooks/picks or less + garbage contracts. NOT BOTH

Also that Dwight is likely to miss a month or so and take his sweet time to get back.

I BLAME the BOBCATS... Had they not pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and pick Thomas Robinson, Sacramento would have traded the #5 pick to us, that would have made life easier

 

What future are we trading? We can't trade any of our future draft picks because of T-Will. You trade the present for a chance at Howard. If he leaves then you still have your future.
