if that's the deal we're the Houston Magic and thus at absolute best an 8 seed in the West at best.

but we only have to give up that much if we eat those contracts. If that is the case then we don't give them as many rookies or pics. PERIOD

They value the cap space as much as a rookie with potential. Orlando HAS TO RID ITSELF OF THE CAP GARBAGE of Duhon/turkey/davis/richardson or it can't rebuild. Why should the Rockets clear the Magic capspace AND hand them all the rebuilding tools in one swoop?

What was the Nets deal going to accomplish again that was so "imminent" (according to East coast media)...Lopez, + a**trash???? and no big contracts back? Ha! No way we do that

Why would the Magic want 8 forwards on their team?

The team would have no flexibility to do anything else with that reported deal. We'd be betting on the extra dough and that only and possibly force Howard to play one season on a team that could be worse than the team he left.

We're trading all our pieces to make a good team to surround dwight for his old teammates hat were liabilities. Surrounding deight with hisold teammates is not the best wayto convince him thatwe can build a championship team especially since those contracts extremely limits the financial capabilities of the team.

Did I say that? Can you quote me on that? You act like these guys won't compete if Dwight leaves...get outta here with that...they will be mediocre if they get those 4 bad contracts

Desperate times don't call for terrible decisions. Everybody wants to trade for a superstar even though history has shown that you normally win by drafting your own. Playing the young guys and hoping one breaks out while also getting a high pick in the draft is not a bad move.

Wow, you are using profanities for guys like Marcus Morris, who was a lottery pick on a lottery team that couldn't get off the bench and couldn't beat out a 2nd rounder for any playing time. Man, oh man, you are upset over Marcus Morris.:rolleyes:

Wait, let me get this straight again. So you are mad that we have to give up Chandler Parsons and Marcus Morris so we can get the best Centre in the league?!!

I'm glad you aren't our GM.

Anyone else think that this is just some ESPN bull**** thrown out there to anger Rox fans and try to stir up general feelings against D12 being traded here.

Perhaps a desperate Camp-Dwight PR move?

can't believe i'm the one defending morey, but, don't you think morey is aware of all this? don't you think he has a plan outlined to make us more than the orlando rockets?

goal 1 will be getting dwight to stay. if he doesn't, we will be terrible next year just like you want us to be. even worse than we'd be if we kept those players. if he does stay, the rockets have a nice-sized window open to put a championship-contending team around him.

just relax and let's see how it plays out. we don't even know what the exact trade will be anyway.

Wow...I know the Rockets are desperately for a star player but....wow. All those young players for Dwight Howard and the Orlando starting lineup. This is surely a lose-lose situation for the Rockets. Morey is DEFINITELY giving up too much to get Howard plus we are absorbed a bunch of bad contracts. Basically Our team would be good for next season then completely an utterly crap next year. Even with this roster we are not contenders for the title. To be honest I was really hoping for the Lakers-Rockets-Magic 3-way trade where we got Bynum instead...Seriously why go for Howard even though he said that he would not want to resign to the Rockets when Bynum said himself that the Rockets are one of his options for free agency.
