    I really really hope that is true. I think I'll throw up and diarrhea at the same time if its all those bad contacts + promising youth + Picks

    Morey CANT Be that desperate. Howard clearly is not the chosen one or he would've won it all with that same crapstastic roster in Orlando.

    The combination of Dwight the Diva and those bad contracts, I rather play the young guys, suck for a year or 2 and build our own OKC.

    He pretty much is the chosen one though. He carried a team with Rafer freaking Alston as the starting PG to the NBA Finals.

    I hope the public pressure is not getting to Morey... even though he "strikes out" on the big deal, I think most honest people realize he is doing his best and what is in the best interest of the team. Swinging so hard for Dwight when there is NO certainty that he will sign long-term is just a VERY risky ploy for a one year rental, when NO ONE thinks that one year rental will yield a championship for Houston.

    Lets put it this way, if you knew you could have Dwight for one year and then he walks, but you wouldn't get a championship, would you do it? Of Course Not. Ok, maybe to put seats in the stands. But do you do it and give up all your promising rookies, youngsters (like Parsons?) and future picks?

    The other key is we are the only serious contender for Dwight. Orlando can't unload him fast enough. Offer a fair deal like:

    Raptors Pick
    Dallas Pick
    2 2nd picks
    Jones/Morris/Patterson/Lamb (2 of these guys)
    Martin (Expiring)
    1 Bad Orlando Contract

    And tell Orlando to take it or leave it. I bet they take it.

    Look at the rest of the garbage that was offered via the Nets. Don't mortgage our future for a drama center who might not be here next season.

    it's the other way around. ORL's offer but OKC rejected it. Why ruins what have been proved good and risk to be possibly better?

    Why the Rockets are going "all-in" for DH12

    If someone has already posited this, then my apologies.

    Yao has been gone just a few years, so I think the Rockets still have a strong, but dwindling fan base in China; something Les is desperate to hold onto. I think he believes that if we can land a superstar player, and hopefully Lin, we can re-energize that fan-base. Due to that belief, it can be logical that Dwight would get some outlandish endorsement deals in China, making it a lot more tempting to re-sign here.

    Thoughts?
