You gotta be kidding me! What the **** is wrong with the media... Bucher was on today saying that the Rockets are the biggest losers of the offseason and he also said that he doesnt see a Howard trading going down for weeks. Its like the media is completely oblivious to the existence of the Houston Rockets.
I love this, Morey is hated for failing to get a superstar and now that we have a legitimate chance to get a superstar, he is still hated. Make up your mind

This is a good move no matter what happens with Dwight Howard. As others have said, Scola would have just taken minutes away from the young guys if he stayed on the team. I appreciate what he did for us, but it was time to move on.

Minimum bid is $3+ million in year one, $10M total. As @EricPincus pointed out first, under rules, teams have to give Scola at least the full unguaranteed amount of last yr of his deal--$10M.
More than likely any team that was remotely interested in trying to trade for Dwight is probably trying to make one last bid because this move would only be made at this point in the summer if the Rockets weren't prepping for the trade to take place very soon. So yeah, you might here about Atlanta or the Lakers making one last ditch effort here in the next couple of days. If a trade wasn't going to happen anytime soon they probably would have held on to Scola until training camp to see if they could muster up a trade of some sort. Other teams know its getting close, and its time for Houstonians to realize that this Dwight things is going to happen. If not, then Morey is taking tanking to whole new level.
