Wasn't this whole board really excited about Finch? I remember getting really hyped up about the guy after reading some stuff about him round these parts.
Doc Rivers was considered a crappy coach at one time. It's amazing how talent make coaches seem smarter.
YES PLEASE. McHale is not the coach you want if you ever think about building a championship team. How about....LARRY BROWN.
Am I the only person that thinks Morey selected McHale specifically to succeed with Dwight Howard. Think about it. Morey is always 5-6 steps ahead. We all suspect he has been eyeing Dwight as the most coveted pick-up in the league and was probably circling last year and this year as the time to put everything on the table to make this move. All of the assets, draft picks and moves have been carefully crafted to bring us to this moment, including, the selection of Coach Mchale. McHale is a renowned "big man's" coach. Probably not the best X's and O's guy but lets face it, this team has its own offensive and defensive coordinators much like an NFL team. Mchale probably relies on them more than we could even imagine. That's how Morey and Les constructed it, knowing full well Mchales weaknesses and his strengths. Part of that strength is being a "leader of men," as well as someone who immediately brings "championship pedigree" and charisma whenever he speaks. Which sounds like exactly the kind of coach Dwight needs. As far as I'm concerned, Mchale was selected specifically for this opportunity.
The next coach will be whatever coach Dwight wants. Dwight will run this team. If we don't give Dwight what he wants, then he will leave, or have a back ache. I wonder what coach Dwight wants? After we trade for Dwight, the first thing Morey should do is ask Dwight who the coach should be. Fire McHale immediately and get Dwight's man in here. Must make Dwight happy.
Thread starter doesn't wait till even July 11 to throw Morey under the bus 1000 times, and now that it appears we may get Dwight or Bynum, he then doesn't even wait for summer league to start to throw coach under the bus. If you don't like the owner + GM + Coach + players ... then ... http://www.mnsportsfans.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2
What about Phil Jackson? He said that Orlando was a great opportunity but it was to far east for him. Maybe the Rockets could interest him.
He sure did look pissed on the bench about 99% of the time last year. I think he would have did things a lot different than McHale,
He is intelligent, but when his emotional brain takes over, role players become superstars in his mind.
My vote is Nate, if you move away from KM you basically move away from the DM at the same time. Bring in a new regime all together. You certainly don't let a gm get to pick his THIRD head coach and let him keep his job. Just for the record I'm all for getting rid of McHale so long as he takes DM the GM with him.
