Gotten more in trade for Scola? You don't think they tried trading Scola in the past 2-3 weeks? They have been and came up empty. So amnesty it is. Also, Martin is an expiring contract(maybe to Orlando).
This isn't disrespect to Scola....it gives him the opportunity to find a competitive team. He knows he has value around the league, especially to certain teams. Disrespect is us shipping him to the Bobcats for a second rounder.... We needed the money, more than they player....and he needs a competitive team, more than the Rockets.

What would you guys rather have? What would you guys rather have? 1)Keep scola, help lakers get d.howard and get bynum or 2)Amnesty scola and trade most of our team and our future for the orlando magic.
How? By trying to help you understand why this happened? Did you bother reading it? Probably not. Scola wasn't going to improve and that contract was getting worse by the day.
Our team would be... Duhon - Douglas Richardson - Turkoglu - Forbes Motiejunas - Leuer Howard - Without the rookies of course, can't really guess which ones or going to orlando so i just left them out, but all those player would forsure be on the team with a trade for dwight with taking back those contracts
It means the Rockets have released him, still have to pay him...but his salary does not count towards the Rockets salary cap. If another team signs him, whatever they sign him for is discounted from his current salary from the Rockets.
That contract, his 15-6 season at 32 y/o, and the new CBA realties torpedoed the chance that someone was going to give us a TE for him even if we paid THEM off with a pick. Phoenix is the only team that really fit the bill of cap space, wanting to at least semi-compete, and having a need at the 4.
