I think we have enough young talent to find guys like that out of what we already have on the squad. If we are taking back 2+ bad contracts I doubt we give up much in the way of prospects.
I would laugh hard if that happened and then Dallas through collecting amnestied/waived players on the cheap allows them to gain Dwight and CP3 next year.

Why would Morey sign DMo if he planned on trading him? Having to wait a month only results in the Rockets possibly losing out on trade opportunities to make the team better over the next month. If Morey really planned on trading DMo in a Howard deal I don't think he would have signed him.
You are thinking about D12 Superman. I am thinking a disgruntled star player coming off major back surgery who does not want to be here. Be ready for major dissapointment. We have some history with former Magic star players.
Oh, and to be clear, as much as I liked Scola's hustle, he had to go to clear room for the youngsters to get more playing time. Unfortunately I think the move was made to be able to absorb more trash in the Magic trade.

Orlando doesn't want him, they want cap space (TE) in return. Even with him, we were teasing the salary cap floor. This amnesty makes it clear that: No one was willing to take on Scola in exchange for cap space A Courtney Lee S&T is not close to happening A trade with Orlando (or other blockbuster) is almost certainly about to happen, as we aren't near the offseason deadline for the amnesty (if we were doing so for purely financial/tax reasons)

Why didn't we amnesty Martin? Unless there's a rule that prevented Martin from being amnestied, why didn't we amnesty him? We could have gotten more in a trade for Scola than Martin in my opinion. Martin's contract is worth more, as well, and we would have had more cap space with him amnestied.
