What is going on here?? I don't get this move. Scola was a good player for us, was a good sport throughout all the previous trade rumors and we just let him go. Couldn't they get rid of Kevin no-heart Martin instead? Geez.

That's probably what the Nets said about Lopez. We can't get Dwight, but I'd gladly pay Lopez max dollar to anchor the team with DWill.

Damn. Scola is my favorite Rocket. I wanted Howard but not if we had to lose Scola to get him. Losing Lowry, Dragic, Lee, & Scola for the sake of adding Howard doesn't make us better.

Potentially they can add Scola and only costing them a minimum level deal. Dirk and other waived/amnestied guys on such deals will put them in the forefront for free agents next year.

I actually do think DH would leave the extra money, so im not one of those people......but i think they are each in different situations. The clippers can't get Dwight anymore. It's well known CP wanted to play with howard and basically settles for the clips after the lakers trade was blocked. Playing with dwight was his #1 option and without another superstar on the clippers, i can't see why playing with Dwight still wouldn't be his preference. Blake and Deandre are good, but clearly not Dwight Howard. You have a Gm that's willing to make moves to improve the team inMorey and this team, without a doubt, would be howard's and Paul's, something they both want. THey're both going to realize you need more than one superstar on a team. If they haven't already, they will after this year.

Except all of those guys are better than Lopez, and Dwight is better than D-Will

Good lord people. Scola was set to make $30 MILLION over the next 3 years!! Don't you think Morey tried his damnedest to trade him?? What team is going to pay a 32 year old PF that much money??? Kevin Martin is an EXPIRING CONTRACT. That holds HUGE value.....he will be very much part of the deal going to Orlando.

Now all that is left to happen is Howard staying in Orlando for one more season. I can see it now:

Woj: "Howard and Orlando management have grown closer over past weeks. Howard possibly staying on 1 more yr."

No dude, are YOU kidding? We have Ibaka/Harden like talent left on this team? Roleplayers and veterans like Perkins and Sef? Are you serious? I mean the details of what we're going to give up aren't clear and if we don't give up some of our younger talent then maybe we can find some, but if you think we're going to be keeping a lot of our good picks and talent then you have far more faith in Morey than I do.

To play with a 35 year old Dirk? Unlikely.

Dwight can play with Josh Smith and Paul here in 2013.
