I've hated on him for the past year but I'm still sad to see him go. A good team is going to pick him up and hopefully he will get a solid playoff shot next season. Luis, don't let players step on you anymore.

I'll be furious if we absorb ALL of Magic's bad contracts. We're the only ones still seriously bidding for Dwight, we shouldn't be getting bent over like this.

I think if he gets claimed on the amnesty wire he fulfills the length of his current contract.

To me, that means there's a good chance Royce White is gone.

IT DEPENDS. It completely depends on what we are SENDING to them. If we are holding onto most of our talent then I'm onboard with it.

uhm maybe its just me but I always felt Scola was going to get Amnestied anyway - whether we get Dwight or not

I mean think about it - he plays PF - we have several younger higher potential prospects playing PF - Scola is a warrior and would command at least 25 mpg a game.

That hurts the development of the younger guys

Secondly he would be the oldest guy on the team and the team is trying to get younger - again doesnt fit in the direction of the team

lastly the guy will be making around what 9-10 million over the next 3 seasons - i mean that was the killer if the team was "win now" and had the players to "win now" then yeah you pay that for scola its a fair contract but in the situation the Rockets are in its too much.

Lastly if the Rockets were able to trade Scola they would have - as they indicated as they were trying but they wanted probably a 1st and a TPE in return all the teams under the cap that could take Scola did not want to take on Scola because its not fitting in their "getting young culture"

So ultimately whats left? Having to amnesty him -- IT SUCKS because i dont think there is a single person on this board that didnt like Scola with all the hustle and heart he brought to this team. He was an amazing player that you couldnt help root

i mean with the way the team is progressing, even without a howard deal, i would personally would have preferred for Motiejunas, Patterson, White, Jones etc to get all the minutes at the PF position - having Scola there would have been more in the "stuck in the middle" situation that we all HATE

    This.

I don't see Morey taking on all those awful contracts while giving up multiple of our new draft picks for a year of dwight. I'm probably wrong though.

I just heard on ESPN just now... That Orlando is gonna take their time, maybe even wait awhile til something comes about that they like. They will be in no rush. Hope this will change all of that

In related news, the Rockets front office amnesties its last vestiges of class. Despicable. Even I'd we win it all next year, it will be bittersweet.

I'll take 3 bad contracts if it means we're not giving our favorite prospects away.

My god, we couldn't trade him? I feel for him, he was my favorite Rocket with Lowry, now both are gone. I hope the Howard trade is like 95% done, because if not, we just screwed ourselves.

I do not think the Rockets will take Orlando's Dwight Howard with Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, Chris Duhon and Epcot Center, if this is true, then the team will have no future if Howard is going to leave next year.

Ok. I thought it was different because they didn't sign him to rookie scale?

Either way If the deal goes down it will go down before August.
